[Jack is on his way down to his basement work room when he hears tinkering from behind a door to an art studio. A bit curious about who else was working on inventions of questionable legality, he stops and peeks in the door.

Oh, it's Amanda.

He realizes she's working on a fenn trap. Now even more curious, he starts to come all the way in, then hesitates.

Well... they are friends, right? Sort of?

He comes the rest of the way in.]

Uh... Hey, Amanda.

[Looking over her shoulder, she gave a cocky grin to the boy]

Just couldn't stay away, could you?

[Turning back to her project she motioned for him to come in]

If you're coming in, then get in here, don't just lurk at the door like a creeper.

[Jack scoots in quickly, the door slamming behind him. He comes toward the table a bit hesitantly, eyeing the trap.]

Soooo... You're making a fenn trap? [Yeah, that was smooth.]

Yup. It's a good project when you're bored.

[The grin she shot him would have frozen a demon in it's tracks.]

Especially when you make them with...additions.

[Jack gets a foreboding shiver down his spine. He gulps nervously, but forces himself to remain otherwise calm.]

[Motions him over, pointing the the serrated jaws of the trap.]

Typical fenn traps are flat, they don't have teeth like bear and wolf traps. This one, as soon as it goes off, it will bite into the skin of whatever it catches.

Um... wow. That looks... pretty scary. But cool! Really cool and evil! [Forced grin. He's going to be the ruler of the planet someday, he should totally be into stuff like this!]

I didn't make it because of that. With the spiders I've seen around here, I want to be sure it at least takes off a leg or two.
