Characters: Rikku and Mio! Location: Dorm A22 Time: Afternoon-ish on the 22, after Rikku gets there and learns her way around Content: Roomies getting to know each other! Yay! Warnings: Uhm...no?
Mio had been taking a slight break from the hectic, mass chaos that was this school. After being here for almost a week now, it was still taking a while to get used to.
For now, she was curled up on her new bed, laptop in hand while she attempted to write a new song. It was a slow process like usual, and without having both Mugi or Ritsu here, it would defiantly be harder to write music for it.
The door opening however, startled her slightly and she looked up, blinking slightly. Was this her new roommate....? "Hello!" Mio called out. It couldn't hurt being polite.
Rikku grinned. "Hi! Are you my roomie?" She stepped into the room, pulling her suitcases behind her. "I'm Rikku!"
The room wasn't bad! Better than her room back home, even if she did have to share. At least Pops and her brother wouldn't be snoring in the other rooms.
Nodding, Rikku opened a drawer in the nearby dresser to start stuffing clothes into. "Usually, when it wasn't crazy hot or crazy wet," she admitted. "And when Pops wasn't being nuts. What about Japan? What's it like there?" Wait, no, what were her CDs doing in with her clothes? Those went on the dresser, not in it.
Well, they were accurate terms. Really, only in Texas did it rain on one side of the street and hurricanes were an issue at the same time uber hot weather was.
"Huh?" Rikku turned to look at Mio, just as she struggled to close the drawer. It wasn't budging. "Maybe? I'm kinda really messy and stuff...and this stupid drawer doesn't wanna close!" She glared at the drawer.
That would be a note for Mio not to visit. She liked her rather normal weather. Not to mention the heat and her didn't mix too well.
She got up crossing over to where Rikku and her drawer were fighting and observed it for a moment. Really, it was like just like Ritsu. Sometimes she just had to wonder if fate liked to tease her. "If you folded it, it may help." She teased softly. "But if you tuck in the clothes in the back, that should do it."
Rikku looked at the clothes. "They are folded! At least, they were," she explained. There was no way she was going re-fold all of them at least not right now, so she started tucking in what she could. When she tried to shut it again, it actually closed.
"Yay! And everything else can go in the closet since I've got hangers for all of that sooooo....Where are the sockets in here? I have a lot of gadget-y things." Rikku crouched down, looking for a socket. Or three. Maybe she'll need a power surge protector...
She giggled softly. "They must have unfolded themselves." She said mock-seriously, and smiled again. At least her advice had worked and the drawer had actually managed to close.
"The sockets? There should be one under the desk and near the bedside table." Mio replied, glancing at her side of the room. She was pretty sure the layout was the same as hers.
The question made her pause slightly. Did she really want to admit it now....? Mio seemed to slump over slightly, a goomy expression appearing slightly. "I can, ah... paralyze people with 'cute'" She said, unable to hide the slight grimace.
It would defiantly be some time until she got used to it. Especially with Ristu's teasing about her being the perfect moe maid.
"Seriously? That's...probably one of the coolest powers ever!" she exclaimed. "Definitely unique, and no one'd ever expect it! It brings a whole new definition of the phrase 'cute but deadly'." Seriously, she could literally cute people to death! Why couldn't Rikku have something that fun? "I'm just a technopath."
Mio blinked slightly at her new roommate. Cool...? Well that was a first. "I-I guess so." She said, absently. "As long as it doesn't effect my playing and no one expects me to actually go 'moe moe kyun'...."
She blinked, blushed and smiled almost sheepishly. "What does a technopath do?" Mio asked curiously.
"Well, I can take the parts of any type of machine, touch one part, and bam! Insta-machine! Or I can repair 'em," Rikku explained, plugging in her lamp and getting up to plug in her clock. "Cars, mostly, but I can do computers and stuff like that too. It's harder to fix gadgets, though, since nine times outta ten it's a circuit thingy that's wrong. And what's 'moe moe kyun'? And what do you play?"
Rikku didn't mean to give the girl the fifth degree, but she was curious!

Snapping out of her thoughts, she saved her work and got up, bowing slightly. "I'm Mio Akiyama. It's nice to meet you."

"Where're you from?" Rikku asked, setting her stuff down and opening the her bags. "I'm from Texas!"

Texas.... that was farther west from their current location. "Was it nice there?" Mio asked curiously.

She was silent for a few moments, just watching before with only a slight hesitation. "Would you...ah, like some help?"

That'd work for now. Rikku grabbed the bag with all her electric stuff and flopped on the ground to plug it all in.
"So, what're your powers, Mio?" she asked, setting her (brand-new, citrus orange) lamp on the desk and crawling under to plug it in.
