Characters: Hinata Hyuuga, Zidane Time: Some point. After Hanabi kidnapping Location: WANDERING. Also wherever Zidane is Content: Hinata's scared, alone and she's wants out. Format: Prose Warnings: None I think.
Zidane was where he was back when the explosion occurred, in his escape from all things fire and death he lost something important to him. Not his knife, he snagged that before jumping away. He moved through the debris a little and he found half of it, "No... dammit."
Zidane picked up the half he found of his mask. He could make another one, that wouldn't be a problem. Its just he's managed to keep this one for three years, he really liked it. At least that was all he lost.
"Oh, Hinata, how's your arm?" Zidane was trying to be cheerful, it was harder than usual. However, he was alive, so was she, so was most everyone he knew. No matter how depressing the island was, he shouldn't let it get to him.
She shifted as she stepped carefully over the debris, frowning as she stepped away from a bit of wood sticking up. It wasn't hard to avoid the evidence around her and she tried to concentrated on Zidane.
"Hey...Um...Hanabi's gone." She shut her phone and frowned, "...I don't want to be here...I'm sorry. I really. I just want to go back..."
Zidane thought a moment, he'd been keeping an eye on Hinata since she got hurt, so he had noticed the guy following her around. He also confronted the guy following her around, and stabbed the guy too. However, the issue is Zidane's only one guy, he couldn't watch both of them. He was kinda hoping someone else would catch up to the guy... not the blond lightning girl... and probably would be bad if it was Hope too. Guess not.
"Makes sense, most people shouldn't be here," Zidane had done his best to help, however this wasn't a place he was useful. His medical skills were limited, nowhere to steal supplies from. A nimble thief didn't have much use rebuilding a world. "How're you getting back to the states? Figure that out yet?"
Hinata had barely noticed the man following her, but she'd assumed it was just someone who was looking for a friendly face or food or anything. She shook her head and bit her lip, "I don't know. We're so far away from there...I just want to go back to school...I guess I haven't thought that far ahead."
Zidane smiled and hopped over, sitting down where there wasn't as much debris on the ground. "A boat would be easiest, especially if we're not looking to create a lot of ruckus. Something with a decent engine, nothing too large that might be missed quickly unless I steal it from a bit away."
Why was Zidane considering leaving just to get her back to a school he didn't want anyone to go to? Well, it'd make her happy, that's one. Also this place was definitely not a place he can help much. This thing, helping Hinata get to the school, was something he could do. And he didn't think Hinata could steal a boat, or drive a boat.
Hinata blinked, unsure of what he was suggesting for a moment. Her brain finally caught up and she got the courage to speak, however meekly.
"Y...You'd help me? I...You don't have to, I can figure out a way." Her free hand automatically went to her hair, twisting and tugging the strands that fell by her face. She had an almost hopeful smile on her face though, she wasn't sure what to think.
"What sorta guy would I be if I didn't help out a friend who needed help?" Zidane smiled, looking at her trying to convince her he was serious. She was hurt, alone, and he couldn't exactly send her off to leave on her own. That couldn't end well.
He had the skills, the tools, and this place was hardly fun. Sure it was home for a while, but he wasn't entirely sold on Magneto's agenda. The Operative also freaked Zidane out time to time, with his various sin speeches. More of the Brotherhood was violent than looking to help people. Probably a good time to cut and run. "Wherever you want to go, I'll get you there."
"I...Thank you Zidane." She smiled, reassured for the moment. She looked away from him for a moment and tugged on her hair a little more.
"W-Well...I already know people at school...and at home...I don't know what I'd do...he'd want us to hide it I think." Part of her was dreading going to the school, who knew what they'd think of her, but...maybe they wouldn't react too badly right? Right?
"Given your father... I think it'd actually be safer if I got you back to the school then you can decide from there," Zidane never really faced the meeting parents of girls he liked. Few times he had it went okay. Those parents didn't hire mercenaries to go to strongholds of 'mutant terrorists' to kidnap back their kids. Safe to say Zidane would rather not go anywhere near that sort of attention.
"First we get a boat," Zidane thought a moment, Africa likely won't prosper too many easy to steal boats, he could go all the way up to the bottom of Euro-Asia. "Might take a few days to get a boat with the right kind of engine for a full trip to the states. Another plan is to get us to Europe and travel on to the states from there, we can be less picky on boats there." Zidane was trying to offer what he could, boats weren't a thing he knew a lot about, but he knew enough.
She blinked and tilted her head, "...Yeah I know. Um...I don't think he'd like you very much." She ducked her head and bit her lip, thinking over the possible ways they could get away.
"...True...I don't really know where to get one though. And we'd have to steal one huh...?" She still wasn't certain about stealing or anything. She wasn't sure if it was right, even if it got her away from these people...minus her friends.
"It's fine, I'm not really surprised, I doubt even bringing you home will help my case too much," Another advantage to taking her to the school, he knew their security was sub-par.
"Buying one is a bit more dangerous here, than just taking one. Also we can leave a note on where to return it. It'll be a mild inconvenience for the owner, nothing more," Zidane was going to omit how many illegal activities were required to get out of here, but legal wasn't an aspect of getting there. Doing bad things are sometimes the only way to do something good, or something.
Hinata frowned, she knew it would be hard to get back home without taking a boat and she didn't have any way to buy one anyways. She sighed and tugged her hair again absently. She pushed it back determinedly after she had weighed things.
"Well...I know. Um. Alright." She was determined to send these people something for their boat, once she had something to give. She wasn't particularly sure a note would ensure the safe return of the boat in any case.
"So what do we do now?" Part of her wanted to ask if he'd visit her, whether she would get to see him or if it would be goodbye once she went to school. But she didn't. It seemed pointless to dwell on something that wasn't happening now.
