Blossom had volunteered to help with the sugar cookies. She wasn't sure how well this was going to turn out, but she had to try her best. Even if she had to try 100 times she was bound and determined to get something right. She had thought about asking Bubbles to help her out, but had decided that Bubbles' artistic skills were probably limited to paper. Blossom did not want to see Bubbles near any sort of fire or heat...not to mention sharp objects. It could just end in all sorts of disaster.

No, Blossom had to show off her own skills. She could do this herself. Besides, it was for her club and it wasn't like she had never cooked before. It was a science in and of itself. Blossom checked over the ingredients again, "Okay, eggs. Check. Milk. Check. Butter. Check..." Whenever she found she didn't have something she would zip over to the cupboard or fridge to get it (having super speed had its uses).

As soon as everything was collected she started mixing things together in a bowl.

Spock was busying himself with the recipes and hadn't noticed Blossom until he saw a blur of color. Once it stopped, the red head had a bag of flour. "Ah, Blossom. I'm glad you came." He gave her a nod, acknowledging her presence.

There weren't too many humans he actually liked, but Blossom was one of them.

Blossom glanced over her shoulder at her fellow chess club member. She hadn't realized he was already in the kitchen or she would have said hello. It just went to show you how much concentration Blossom put into things like this.

"Hello Spock. Of course I came. I'm a part of this club too. It wouldn't be fair to put all of the work on you," she replied in a rather stubborn manner.

"I did not to insinuate that you would not show up. I merely met that I am glad to have you here. I am not that knowledgable in human desserts. It is also nice to have you around." Spock was being genuine here.

He looked over the ingredients and then gave a nod. "So where are you in the directions?"

She smiled sheepishly. Right, Spock would have known better than to think she wouldn't show up. "Right. Well, unfortunately I'm not exactly skilled in the culinary arts. I know some people say it's a lot like chemistry...but I speak from experience that it's not. If it was, I'd probably be better at it or at least have a bit more experience." She meant her dad here, of course, not Professor Xavier. She had no idea what HIS culinary expertise might be.

Blossom looked down at the ingredients as well, "I'm just about to add the eggs." As she said this she pulled over a second bowl, "It's important to crack the eggs in a separate bowl...just in case you get any shell in the yolk you can pick it out before mixing it in with the rest of the ingredients."

Spock listened to her talk as he gathered the eggs and began to crack them in another bowl. He wasn't very good at it and was constantly stopping to pick out the eggshells. However, around his fourth egg, he was getting the hang of it.

He looked over at Blossom when he was done. "Using Earth ingredients is different than Vulcan. This is a learning experience." He said looking over at the recipe.

"How was your break?"

Blossom watched Spock work, wincing whenever she saw egg shells drop into the yolk. Oh well, that was why she had suggested the separate bowl. Blossom went back to focusing on her own work, reading ahead on the ingredients and pre-heating the oven (since she hadn't done that yet). When he was done with the eggs Blossom then took the bowl and added it to the mix ( ... )

"It is quite alright. I do not have any siblings, although I, personally, would be very pleased with a robot. Then again, I am a technopath." Spock said matter of factly ( ... )

"I thought the robot was pretty amazing myself," Blossom said with a small smile, brushing her hair over her shoulder. Sadly, she hadn't really gotten the opportunity to study all of the functions...but the Professor had provided her with a number of manuals to browse in her spare time. She'd already started of course.

Blossom was now finished with the dough part of the cookies. She could now shape it. She didn't have any cookie cutters in the shape of chess pieces, but she did have the idea to cut the cookies into circle shapes and just frost images of chess pieces on them. They were going to need a lot of black and white frosting though. "Uneventful can be good. Sorry about your roommate though. Have you thought about asking for a switch? I'm sure there have to be people willing to room with you, Spock."

His request caught her a bit off guard. Dinner? No, but surely he was just asking her as a fellow chess club member. Goodness she was thinking too much in to this. 'Blossom. Get a hold of yourself. He's right, we ( ... )

"He is not too much of a bother, yet. If we stick to our own sides of the room, I think we should do well. Perhaps doing well is aiming high. I would settle for being amiable." Spock said as he mixed in powdered sugar into a bowl.

He was not quite sure what this dinner would be classified as, but he did like Blossom. She was efficient, intelligent, and interesting to be around. Besides the next time Kirk said anything about him being antisocial, Spock can respond back that he was, in fact, not antisocial. But that was not his only reason for asking Blossom.

"I was thinking this weekend so it does not interfere with our studies or extracurricular activities."

Blossom nodded. She thought about mentioning that that was how she acted with Buttercup sometimes, but that they really cared for each other. However, she decided Spock probably didn't want to hear that second part, especially if he generally didn't care for the guy. She supposed it wasn't just siblings that acted that way. Blossom wasn't exactly an expert on human relations...or alien relations as the case might be.

"Sounds good, I know you have to be just as busy as I am." Blossom gave him a smile after that. "Did you have somewhere in mind? There are a bunch of places in town I haven't even been to yet." She paused, looking down at her dough as she rolled it out, "Guess I don't get out as often as I should."

"I have not been to Salem that often, so I am up for any suggestions. And perhaps we can make this a regular thing? A mission of sorts, to explore the town, see what it offers." Spock mused aloud as he continues making the frosting.

Seperating the mixture into three bowls, he took out the food coloring to dye the frosting. There was blue, red, and green - and on the back of box, ways to make other colors. "What color do you think the frosting should be?" He asked her, not sure how to color coordinate cookies.
