[It was quiet in the cafeteria today; maybe a little too quiet for Minako's liking. She knew a good majority of the students had gone home for the holidays (which she would have done as well if her mother wasn't so frugal), but it still made her uncomfortable. She didn't like being alone with her thoughts; she had one too many flitting around her head at the moment, and not very pleasant ones to boot.
Why did those kidnappings have to happen here? It was as if the past refused to give her any peace. Every pore of her being had wanted to slap on her costume and join the other students in the rescue, but common sense had won out in the end. No one in the school knew that one of the infamous Sailor Senshi was attending here, and she didn't want to blow that cover quite yet. Sure, she could have joined the other students as herself, but she wasn't stupid; she knew that she wasn't strong enough without her Senshi uniform on.
But what was done was done; the X-Men and the others successfully returned the students, and she was here getting beat up by her own pride. With a small sigh, she turned a page of her borrowed Seventeen magazine and propped her chin on her free hand. This was depressing. Not only had she failed yet again in protecting others, she was alone during the holidays to boot. At least if she had a boyfriend or a cute boy around, she could snuggle with them and forget about it for a while, but alas, it seemed the Goddess of Love had struck out hard in the romance department lately.
Tucking a lock of her blond hair behind her ear, Minako picked up her small cup of hot chocolate and took a swig, completely forgetting for a moment that it was still piping hot]
Y-Yeowch!
[Come and snap her out of her doldrums?]
