[He wasn't even looking for a party, he just wanted to come down and get some lunch and go back up to his room, but the sound of the bass coming out of the cafeteria is enough that he pokes his head in to see what's going on. He's just sort of standing in the doorway, looking surprised that the cafeteria has been transformed into some sort of party]

Thank you. [and now he's unsure, does he make a break for the food and then his room or should he be sociable? He doesn't really feel like it, but... maybe that means he should] I'm Roderich by the way, it's nice to meet you...

[smiles back, because that's the sort of smile that asks to be returned but he blushes a bit] I really don't know how. Or, not this sort of dancing. [he could waltz or foxtrot, any sort of actual ballroom dance, but this? he's afraid he would just embarrass himself]

[yeah, he's really bad about that too. agonizing for hours? he can do that all day, but he's not used to spontaneity. he pushes a hand through his hair and looks a bit sheepish, because it does look like people are having fun] Maybe I will, after I get something. I'd rather not look silly though.

Then I don't want to feel silly? [and somehow he doubts Maxxie would look silly, but he doesn't really know that] Anyway, I should get some food before my stomach growls at me again. [not that he would mind so much if Maxxie followed him, but he's sure the boy has something else he'd rather be doing]
