Trowa had been intending to find a quiet, isolated place to shift back to human when a flowerpot impacted the wall above and just before his head. Ears flattening, he cautiously stepped forward and peered around the island's corner to see what was going on.
Seeing the animal out of the corner of her vision, she took a step back. There was no way Sanji would let an animal into his kitchen unless he were cooking it, it must have sneaked in when no one was looking.
"Get out of here!" Throwing a dishrag at the animal, she hoped to scare it away. It never even crossed her mind it could be a student, it just seemed like a stray that had wandered onto the property.
He stepped lightly out of the dishrag's way, catching it in his mouth and rearing to set it on a counter, in lieu of trying and probably failing to hook it over an oven door's handle or something similar.
Now he could place her. This was the girl who had responded to Gossip Girl, Duo's apparent ex-girlfriend. Seemed that this told him everything he needed to know about her knowledge of Duo and Hiiro's relationship.
Tilting her head slightly, she peered at the strange dog. "So what...are you a teachers pet or something? You're too smart to be a stray."
Lowering herself to sit on the floor, she held a hand out for him...her...it. Maybe it was wearing a collar, she could take it back to whoever it belonged to. "Come here, You're too pretty to stay in here."
Well, at least she wasn't throwing things anymore. And even if he couldn't talk like this, jaw entirely the wrong shape, animals were supposed to be comforting. She didn't have to know he was sentient.
That in mind, he walked slowly forward and sniffed her hand.
Leaning forward a bit, she ran a hand over it's fur. The downy softness surprised her a bit, she felt around it's neck. "Huh? No collar." Shrugging, she leaned back against a counter, pulling her knees up to her chest.
"Guess you have to find your own way, pretty. There's nothing I can do for either of us now." Closing her eyes, she leaned against her knees, it was all over now.
Actually, a collar was a good idea. More chance he'd be mistaken for a mutt instead of shot or trapped.
He also couldn't feel right about just leaving her alone, and moved forward again-- nudging her hip with his nose and curling against it. Besides, if she thought he was a pet... well, if he were, he'd pay attention to the person in the kitchen.
Felling the nudge, she looked over at it. He was certainly friendly, who ever he belonged to.
Reaching a hand down, she rubbed behind it's ears. "Why are you still here, baby?" Lowering her legs, she patted her lap for it. I'd like to give you something, I'm not sure what you can give dogs though."
He obediently laid his head in her lap, looking up with unusual green eyes. She didn't need to give Trowa anything to induce him to stay, there was nothing better to do with his time. Even if he did, shape-changing was something he'd been doing since before he'd realized it made him unusual.
The least he could do for someone wronged by an old comrade was be there.
Actually the least would be skimming money from Duo's accounts and performing a series of anonymous drops, but that wouldn't help anything.
He wuffed softly, pondering ownership. S was more of an employer or benefactor, but...
Petting it gently, she looked into it's eyes...his very...green eyes. She'd never heard of a dog with green eyes. Shrugging, she leaned back, she'd worry about that minor detail later.
Running a hand down it's side, she silently pondered what she should do now. It would be no great feat to just leave, they couldn't keep her here against her will. Although...she could always get revenge.
Chuckling softly, she looked down at her strange companion. "What do you think? Should I leave or stay and get revenge?" Not that she expected an answer, it was more just to get it off her chest.
If Trowa knew Duo, he'd say that leaving would be its own revenge. The problem was that his current vocal apparatus wasn't meant for talking, nor did he think that she would react well to a naked person suddenly appearing in her lap. Especially not a naked man, but since he'd figured out how to mimic clothes with carefully baggy skin and pigmentation, nudity might not be as much of a problem as it seemed.
"At least you can't be a lying cheater." Resuming her petting, she leaned back, closing her eyes. "I'm not sure what the best revenge would be...I never really thought about it before." Trailing her hand down the dogs back, she finger brushed it's coat, removing what snags she could find.
"I never wanted to hurt him...I guess he didn't share the same sentiments."
The fur smoothed and turned to skin under her hands, spine and bones lengthening, changing until what lay in her lap wasn't a coyote, but a slim young man.
"A liar, but I don't tolerate betrayal." For now, Trowa didn't think it wise to mention his own past history with Duo Maxwell, although he would dispense advice.
Pulling her hand back, she stared at the person laying in her lap...the very attractive person laying in her lap. "You mean to tell me you knew what I was saying this whole time, and you never said anything!" Jerking her legs from under him, she stood to lean angrily against a counter.
Glaring at him, she crossed her arms in front of her chest...only just now noticing his state of undress. Turning quickly, she stared at the counter hoping to hide her blush.
"You seemed like you needed to talk," he said mildly, and also stood. Clothes were... relatively easy to manufacture, with so much practice. A seed could be used for a shirt, or several of them grown together. For pants, that or just tinted, patterned skin.
Unfortunately, Temari had managed to comb most of the seeds from his fur.
"As for revenge, the best one in this case is leaving him, but staying here."
Keeping her back to him, the only thought running through her mind was Oh God, there's a naked man taking to me...in the kitchen of all places. She wasn't sure what to do in this situation but nod while facing away from him.
She tried hard to think of a coherent sentence. "I suppose. It'll just be hard to see him so much, especially with us sharing so many classes." She wasn't even sure she could stand seeing him for that, however; she still couldn't seem to get past "Do you need clothes?" It was very disconcerting knowing he was naked behind her...and she didn't like talking to counters.

For now, though, he just made an inquiring sound.
