[Knocks on the door, sure he could just walk in, but he knows his manners]

Teach? Can I talk to you?

[she looks a little tired when she opens the door for him, but still smiles at him]

Of course you can. [steps aside to let him in] What's up? [not that she isn't expecting that the same thing that's getting everyone else down is bothering Virgil.]

Thanks. [Enters the room, if he notices her tired expression he doesn't say anything]

[he kept an eye out for the cat before flopping down in a chair] Not much. [PG can probably tell there is more but he looks unsure of where to start]

[Alfred isn't entirely sure why he's here--he knows he's been feeling kind of weird lately, but it's nothing major--and doesn't even realize he's heading toward Ms. Starr's office until he's there, knocking on the door a bit harder than he meant to in his distraction, but not enough to crack the door or anything.]

[a little surprised by the vehemence of that knock, Karen hefts the cat off her knees and goes to open it - she's surprised to see it's Alfred, because she honestly didn't expect to see him outside of Flight class without having to hunt him down.]

[Alfred smiles, but it's more of an automatic thing; it certainly lacks its usual enthusiasm.]

Can I come in?

[she smiles back, sympathetic and a little tired, and steps aside for him to come in]

Of course you can. [she closes the door once he's come inside, and turns back to him, looking kind of concerned] Are you okay?
