Characters: ANYONE WHO FEELS LIKE IT Location: A CONFERENCE CENTER IN NYC Time: Friday afternoon Content: idk my bff conferencing Format: Whatever you like Warnings: EVENTUAL BROUHAHA
It was great that his Pops had agreed to let him stay an extra day for the conference before going back home for break. Virgil had come up with some argument about how this was part of his future and he wanted to be here to hear it. The location of the conference was a bit more impressive than he had imagined. He stared up at the organ and wondered how people were going to pay attention to any speakers with a GIANT ORGAN looming over every thing.
Virgil sighed and took a seat near the rest of the students from Xavier's Institute. He knew this probably wasn't going to be THAT exciting...but he imagined it would spark some great debates among the students and staff. Stuff like this always seemed to rile them up.
Alfred spotted Virgil pretty quickly (one of the last people in his mentor group he actually liked at this point) and sat down next to him, grinning as if this were all far more exciting than it promised to be.
"Isn't this cool, it's like being a part of history or something," he said. "Well, the non-superhero part of history."
One of the more tight-knit groups Harry was a part of was Flight class; presumably because setting each other on fire and trekking across the state in large flocks was the stuff real friendships were made of. So making a beeline for Virgil and Al was automatic, once Hermione had been distracted enthusing at another girl further back.
He sat down next to Al, steadying Ruth with one hand; the tiny dragon's grip on his hair was a little precarious.
"With the number of superheroes here, I wouldn't really be so sure about that."
Virgil looked up when Al sat next to him. Well, at least Al would make this conference a little more bearable. Virgil was dreading some of the anti-mutant sentiments, but he knew listening to a conference like this was important.
"It is pretty historic. Of course, one could argue that this has a lot to do with superheroing. It's not all about punching out villains and rescuing people from burning buildings." Virgil knew that Al might not think so, but Virgil knew that decisions made here could have repercussions on people who were considered superheroes as well. Especially considering some of the people in attendance.
"Well I mean not the punching villains rescuing burning people--well before they're burning, usually--uh. That part."
The more boring part, really, but Alfred was excited enough about this sort of thing lately he didn't even mind sitting in one place for who knew how long. It would be interesting--although he hadn't really stopped to think about what the anti-mutant protesters would be saying. He hardly stopped to think about them in his every day life, after all.

When Harry joined them, he seemed to agree.
