Characters: ANYONE WHO FEELS LIKE IT Location: A CONFERENCE CENTER IN NYC Time: Friday afternoon Content: idk my bff conferencing Format: Whatever you like Warnings: EVENTUAL BROUHAHA
Jinx was interested in the conference and had actually dressed up somewhat professionally for it, with black dress pants and a nice purple button down shirt. Rather than her usual hairstyle that vaguely resembled horns, she'd taken care to comb her hair down and drenched it in hairspray to keep it tidily in place.
She'd only had the chance to speak to Professor Xavier briefly a couple of times during her entire stay at the Xavier Institute, so it would be interesting to hear him speak at the conference. Given some of the other people who were going to be speaking, she had a small video camera ready. She planned on filming all the speeches, and dissecting the hell out of the opposition's arguments. Maybe she'd get extra credit in one of her classes, or she might be able to submit something well written to the newspapers.
Hermione looked at their surrounding with curiousity, but not much interest. She was far more interested in those at the front and wondered how close she could get to the front of the crowd. How close were they allowed to get?
Not that it particularly mattered, she could hear anything just as easily in front as in the back. She hadeven brought a notebook to keep notes on what was discussed and by whom. Who knew which teachers might give extra credit for such initiative.
"Are we to sit anywhere we please, or in a particular spot?" She asked of the girl ahead of her.
"I don't think we've got an assigned place to sit, but I think we are supposed to sit together as a group, more or less," replied Jinx. "Given who else is coming to speak here, we should probably sit as far away from the Stryker supporters as possible. Things might get ugly otherwise."
Jinx was certain she could hold her own in a fight if it came to that, but a conference was supposed to be peaceful and all students attending were expected to be on their best behaviour.
"Let's try to sit somewhere near the front and off to one side," she suggested. "I've got a video camera, and people who didn't want to come for the whole conference might still want to hear Professor Xavier's speech."

Beast Boy had come to see the conference. Well okay, that was partly the reason he came... the majority of that reasoning being that there were probably going to be a lot of super heroes in one place and a chance to hear speeches from them was just too awesome to pass up, and there was a possibility that a fight might break out and he would need to help with the fighting, but yeah. Conference. He's actually made a little bit of effort too, not sure how exactly to dress since he'd never been to one of these things before, but he was wearing a black dress shirt, and a purple tie.
At first, he walked straight past Jinx and Hermione, not recognizing her with her hair down and in a dress, but he did a brief double take and then back tracked. It took every bit of his being not to attack her then and there--the last time he'd seen her in person she was kind of attacking him--but he was still scowling just a little.
"Oh I wish I'd thought of that. I just brought something to make notes. Do you think we'll get extra credit?" Hermione trailed off to one side as she picked a nice spot to view the conference from.
"Ah...I do hope they can keep themselves contained. I'm sure we all will. Have to be on our best behavior after all."
Then someone came up behind them and she glanced back at him. Oh please, were things really going to go like? Hermione sighed and walked back the way she came to look for Harry.
"We might," said Jinx. "Maybe at least for the relevant subjects. Mr. Grayson's Criminal Law class, possibly."
She frowned when Beast Boy of all people approached them, particularly when Hermione left the two of them alone.
"Beast Boy."
She whirled around to face him, hands shoved in her pockets. Avoiding him had worked out just fine for her. She wondered why he wasn't trying the same tactic. Maybe he just didn't trust her to behave and thought his personal attention was warranted? She didn't know. Either way, she wanted to make one thing very clear.
"We're supposed to be on our best behaviour here, so I hope you're not looking for a fight."
"Only if you're looking to start one," he snorted, crossing his hands over his chest and looking at her expectantly. His brain still hadn't quite wrapped around the idea that Jinx was straight. There were too many memories of her and the other guys she hung out with, stealing, fighting... he just did not trust her at all. She had to be up to something after all.
"Maybe if it was a battle of wits but...aw, sorry, you came unarmed. No fighting today."
She smirked a little. No, she wasn't going to throw the first punch, and if she had her way, she wasn't going to be throwing any. But that didn't mean she couldn't get in a little verbal jab or two.
"If you'll excuse me, I need to go carry out my ever so evil plan of filming Professor Xavier's speech."
It was tempting to make some sort of sarcastic remark about her camera secretly being a death ray of mass destruction, but there was the possibility of Beast Boy taking her sarcasm literally. Jinx didn't want her camera destroyed because he was suspicious of her.
"Hey, Gar -" Teddy hesitated mid-greeting as he noticed the severe animosity going on here. He frowned. "Hey. What's up?" he said, looking at Jinx ever so slightly suspiciously.
