Clarice had decided she wanted to enjoy the outdoors, so had taken a book of poetry from the library and found a nice area in the garden to sit. She's always enjoyed reading, avidly devouring books as soon as she got her hands on them when she was younger, and that had not changed. She'd already moved through over half the poems, when she stopped, and had to re-read one of the poems.
She quirked her brow and frowned, then read aloud:
"Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay."
She tapped her lip with her finger, a thinking gesture she'd done ever since she was a little girl, "I wonder what he means? There's has to be a deeper meaning to the poem than just talking about nature."
