[Hey, European plugs do not work in American sockets. Good move forgetting that Courfeyrac. The espresso machine is now broken beyond repair. Looks like its vending machine coffee for now on. Ooh, are those donuts?]

Ooh, yes they are. Ah, Lara! Good things always seem to happen when I run into you. [charmingest smile]

[smiles back, and gives Courfeyrac a kiss on the cheek. Why not, it's the staff room, not the school cafeteria... oh wait, that didn't stop her before]

I could say the same, love. We should run into each other more often.

[returns the kiss on the cheek] I shall have to make a point of it then. I quite enjoyed out last encounter.

[why no she isn't undressing him with her eyes*] As did I.

[licks a drop of icing from the donuts off her finger] What brings you to the staff room today? Hiding from the form letters?

[shamelessly enjoying both the eye-undressing and the frosting-licking] Ah, not exactly. I ah... managed to short-circuit my coffee-maker. [slightly embarrassed pause] I am occasionally very guilty of acting without letting Mr. Brain into the decision-making process.

[truewhitequeen]

[sympathetic chuckle] I did the same thing to my hairdryer on a trip to England a few years back. [gestures to the bag of fresh donuts] I can't offer you coffee, but maybe a donut or two can ease the pain of losing the coffee-maker?

Oh you clearly know the key to a man's heart. [takes a donut gratefully]

[is not going to take a second one; she already had lunch] I've been known to find my way there once or twice.

Only once or twice? You shock me. [takes a thoughtful bite of donut, if such a thing can actually happen]

[laughs] Is that disappointment or relief I'm hearing?

[le_centre]

Merely surprise. One would think men would be throwing themselves at your feet.

[truewhitequeen]

That's only because I don't kiss and tell often.

[le_centre]

[smile] What charming discretion.

[smile] I could say the same for you.

[decides that there is no elegant way to eat a donut and puts it aside] Well, it only gets better in the practice, I suppose. One always does like to hover on the edge of indiscreet and tactfully pull back before it gets awkward for other people.
