Courfeyrac very wisely had decided to run into town to buy cream puffs, instead of making them himself, and, while there, had given into temptation and bought several other types of pastries. He left the door to his (shockingly clean) office open, took off his coat, set up the coffee maker, and began arranging the pastries in an aesthetically pleasing fashion on a paper plate.
"Terribly classy," he muttered, unearthing some white paper cups for coffee, milk and the two-liter of soda he'd also picked up. "At least they match."
