Courfeyrac walked into Annette's on the Square with his hands in the pockets of a pair of very well-tailored pants. This place looked extremely nice and- oh, there was Lara, looking extremely nice herself.

He shrugged off his navy pea coat, to expose a nice collared shirt, somewhat negligently buttoned, and slid onto a bar stool by Lara. "Ah, begun without me? I cannot believe I am so very late. Will I have to make it up to you somehow?"

Lara turned at the sound of the familiar voice and greeted Courfeyrac with a warm, sensual smile. Maybe it was the play of shadows in the room, but for the briefest second there was something predatory in her expression as she took him in. "Not at all," she answered, rising from the stool to greet Courfeyrac. "You aren't even late. But it seemed rude to let other gentlemen buy me a drink first--" She nodded to the other side of the bar, where a few other patrons waited for their own seats. "So I took the liberty of doing it myself."

She kissed the air about his cheeks and brushed a finger against his hand. "Being out of businesswear agrees with you."

Courfeyrac blinked- had it been... it certainly was a trick of the light, but Lara had looked at him almost predatorially. Not, Courfeyrac decided, that he minded in the slightest. He returned her bisous with pleasure, taking the opportunity to lay his hand lightly on her shoulder. It was ostensibly to keep his balance, but the way he trailed his fingers down her bare arm afterwards certainly wasn't.

"You flatter me unduly, Lara- it's a wonder that dress hasn't earned you a drink from any one of my rivals over there. I already knew you were one of the more beautiful women of my acquaintance, but...." He grinned. "I think I have earned the envy of every man here."

Courfeyrac's words were received with a liquid laugh. "Now who's being the flatterer," she teased, her own hand lingering against his arm. She nudged him gently towards the barstools. "So tell me, how did the rest of your day go?"
