[Stops rather gracefully on the other side of the boards near Terry, grinning.]

Not going to come skating?

[Turns mid-step to look at Maxxie. Why on earth would he go out on the ice ever.]

I think it's probably better if I don't.

[He looks a little confused for a moment but then OH RIGHT. Silly Americans.]

[There's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it look of SHEER TERROR on his face at the idea of going on the ice (and the fact that he's likely going to lose this fight :c) before he straightens out his usual lineface]

It wouldn't be the first time, I just. I barely manage staying upright most days. [Slight exaggeration, but he does end up damaged and on the floor surprisingly often.]

[Anyway. He looks down at his now-empty coffee and frowns a little in thought and sighs resignedly. He's not such a social failure that he doesn't know a losing battle when he runs into one.]

I'll need to get a pair of skates then.

[Maxxie smiles in victory and does another circle before getting off the ice and waiting for Terry to put on his skates.]

[And he comes back a few minutes later, now with ice skates! Kind of eyeing the ice a little warily now, too. This was a Very Bad Idea.]

Need me to tie them for you as well?

[Maxxie, if you were Hardball anyone else, he would totally punch you in the face. Probably. Maybe. In any case, as you are not, he's going to raise an unimpressed eyebrow (verrr dangerous) at that and set about getting said skates on securely.]

I think I'll manage on my own.

[Luckily Maxxie's a very cute blond boy. And he's just going to relax as he waits for Terry to put on his skates.]

[Skates have been acquired and equipped successfully! Terry takes his time standing up too, so as not to promptly fall flat on his face, and hesitantly makes his way towards the ice.]
