Doug was standing in the control room, he could probably figure this stuff out if he wanted to, but he didn't want to make Bobby angry or get him in trouble. So instead he looked on through the windows into the Danger Room itself. It was the first time he had seen the place, though he had heard about it before.
He wanted to see it in action, but more importantly he wanted to see Bobby in action.
