A Plea to all of you at XI
To be perfectly honest, I have never seen this place more quiet, and that really shouldn't be! I joined XI as a way to flex creative muscles I'd never flexed before, and in doing so I think I've become a much better writer, with a much better sense as to what does and doesn't work insofar as writing and characterization. I look around the game and see that XI has effected people in very similar ways! Everyone here is a tremendously talented writer/player in their own right, and to see this game become so quiet that it appears to be DYING makes me upset! I made some great friends from here, and for this game to just grind to stagnation is truly tragic!
What I am asking is, what can we do to help change things around here? What can we do to get more people joining and having fun with the rest of us? What can we do so that we all get a chance to flex our creative muscles? What can we do to get this place the highly active and FUN place we know it can be?
We've had some great adventurous plots while we've been here. Adventures with Zombies, Monsters, Mutants, Time Travel, and straight up Super villains! Currently the only plot we have is Spring Prom! Maybe we can put together new threats? New spins on stories based on our favorite books and comics? Or maybe a mystery or two?
We've had a tremendous and robust cast of characters while we've been here as well. Mutants, Aliens, Robots, Rock People, Mermaids, and... whatever Gonzo is, all the way down to regular old humans! Maybe we can send some personal invites out to some of the players we've seen in other games? Maybe we can advertise the game a bit?
We've got such a great cast of chars, but most of the time we only see logs where they're getting something in the kitchen or when there's a dance! Things can happen all over a school besides eating and dancing! Incidents in the hallways, students skipping classes, students chatting between classes, teachers chatting in the faculty lounge or catching delinquent students, or teaching the students!
We have a pages up on TV Tropes and other sites that talk about us! Let's show them that we are worthy of their mention!
