The Mods Have An Idea

Oct 15, 2010 02:05

OKAY GUYS, it's time to bounce an idea off your shiny collective little heads.

As we all know, mentor groups are fun! But they're also hit pretty badly whenever one of their members is inactive. This goes double when the teacher isn't around, and students can miss out on a lot of interesting events and CR if their group isn't active. To solve this, we'd like to try out a new homeroom system.

What would this entail, I hear you ask? Why, let me tell you.

Instead of groups of three to five students and one teacher, homeroom would be organised for groups of approximately fifteen students each. For twenty minutes each morning, those students would report to their allocated room. Think of it as study hall, or registration, if you're a Brit. Each group would have several homeroom teachers, though only one would be needed for the morning sessions, and if all of a group's teachers were unavailable they could elect substitutes for that day, week, month, century... you get the idea.

Of course, there would also be intergroup competitions, as well as the usual get-togethers, parties and ~TEAM-BUILDING EXERCISES~ because we know how much your students love those. The teachers would still be mentors in essence: they're there to help students with their issues and generally be supportive and bad good role-models at the same time.

So, that's the plan! Now comes your turn. We would like your input about this. How large do you think the groups should be? Do you think we should completely break apart mentor groups, or keep kids from the same mentor group in the same homeroom class? Do you have suggestions for activities or events? Or do you dislike this idea, and want to suggest an improvement or alternative?

WE WELCOME YOUR FEEDBACK.

On the subject of feedback: if any player has an issue with the RP in general or wishes to talk to a mod, we affectionately remind you that you can go to our mod contact and feedback post and either comment there or find the information you need to pounce a mod in person. Handy!

Excelsior!
