He is a professor at Dartmouth, and longtime friends with Professor Xavier and a staunch supporter of the mutant rights. Former X-Men should be familiar with him and anybody who watches television/reads the newspaper should have seen or heard of him or Indiana before.
His power is to quote obscure literary references and terrify seagulls with his umbrella - okay, so maybe he's not a mutant, but he's epic anyway.
