Out of curiosity, does anyone know which colleges and universities are the most mutant friendly? I don't want to waste my money going to a school that's going to judge me more by my X-gene than by my academic performance.

[muttered] ... I never thought about that...

I don't know any off hand, but Mr. Anderson appears to be the counselor who knows about colleges and universities. If no one answers here, he could probably help you.

Thanks. I've already sent out a bunch of applications, but I'd like to know if/when I get accepted that I'm going to be going to a school that won't turn a blind eye to discrimination against mutant students.

Maybe you can look at what clubs and organizations are at the schools. If there are some with mutant pride or support groups, I'd say they'd be a safer choice than ones without them.

That's a good idea. I'll check those out. There's usually a list of official clubs and organizations somewhere on the school sites.

Why do I feel like I should be researching this too?

Because we're high school seniors? I sent off my applications early. I just don't want to get accepted into a program only to find that most people on campus are prejudiced morons. Especially with what happens to me if I overuse my powers.

The one I'll be attending doesn't seem like it will be too bad. It's close to the Institute, though, so if you wanted to go farther that won't be much help. [PROVIDES LINKS ANYWAY]

Thanks.

Oh! That was one of the ones I applied to. I'm still waiting to find out if I got accepted or not. What program did you apply for?

I'm sure you won't have trouble. I'm looking at political science right now, what about you?

Majoring in biochemistry and minoring in botanical science. I'm hoping to come up with an antidote for my toxic blood. Mostly I like my mutation. That part? Not so much.

Empire State's got a pretty good track record. UCLA too.

I'm glad to hear it. It's good to know that there's options.
