Is there anyone who's willing to help a fellow student with homework? I've been in a staring contest with it for a while and I think it's winning.

It's for English class. Analyzing a book called "Just Like the Sky".

M-mom!

[That was fast! He sheepishly pulls out the paper of questions to show her -- out of the several questions, there's only about two or so answers.]

Uh... I guess a lot.

[She knows where her baby is :) ALWAYS She looks at the questions for a few minutes.]

Have you read the book, Lloyd?

I did! And I still... don't get a lot of it.

[He's a bit embarrassed by this.]

[She laughs. Oh Lloyd ♥]

What don't you get, sweetheart?

Well... mostly linking the themes together.

[A pause.]

I talked to a few people... I know that the book's theme deals with empathy, in a way. You know, expressing love for each other in ways that both people can understand. Like... well, like you and dad.

[There's a hint of an embarrassed smile as he says it.]

What I don't get is how it ties in to other themes, like time, loss and separation.
