It seems to me that we ought to be discussing our positive experiences after we discovered our mutations! I know that many of us have been on occasion pleasantly surprised. For example, when I visited certain rural villages, some of the inhabitants believed I was a, well, I suppose you would say incarnation? Of whomever they believed did control the weather. And it is also believed by many that I am my famed ancestor Ayesha, who was Sorceress Supreme, reborn, although my powers are not magical in nature. I was even able to speak with the late Rain Queen as a younger woman! That is not to say that there are not many people in Africa who are fearful towards mutants and do not treat us with respect, only that there are many kind people as well! I believe it is very important we acknowledge the kind ones, and do not dwell only on the people who treat us unfairly. Who have you met who has been kind and respectful? Even if it is only smiling at you in the street.
