I know a lot of people don't believe in ghosts or demons, but it could be that? But even if it's not, some of the protection charms might work against magic.

I don't know enough about magic and shit to know what's real or not, and anyway I wouldn't know what works on what. I'll look some stuff up, though, at least. Is Wikipedia any good for this kinda thing?
