I am always pleased by a clear, beautiful dawn that follows a struggle of some sort; the pale sunlight on the dew is particularly delightful, and it is even more of a pleasure to enjoy such a thing after one has undergone some great hardship that is now over. It is such a pity when what could be a beautiful morning is ruined so utterly by an ugly landscape. I have heard that there are mutants who can make plants grow - what a useful gift! - but I expect it will take some time to restore any semblance of beauty to the remains of this city, which was ugly even before it was destroyed.
I am going to take a flight across the island to see if anything worth looking at has survived without damage; if anybody wishes to join me, they may, but I should not like to carry more than two or three people.
