Don't let the excitement over the event make you think that these dances are required by any standard. While many people enjoy them thoroughly, others find them tiresome or awkward. The importance of it really varies, depending on the individual.

Some schools require you to stay for a certain length of time, but yes, Xavier's gives that as an option, if you're interested.
