Are there any Dungeon and Dragons players, here? I haven't played since I arrived and I was going to start my own game back in my old school ( Read more... )

I was actually looking to DM a game for the gaming club. If you'd like to be a player I can run it. Us X-Men are all oldies to the D&D game.

Oh, if you wanted to run a game, I didn't want to obstruct anyone's plans!

I'm sure we can run two games at once. I just figured more people would want to play. It's more stressful being the DM... trust me, I know.

And you can always use my classroom for any gaming needs.

I was thinking about having only three or four players, to be honest. I received three answers, so my plan is going well?

Two games wouldn't be a problem for me.

Just four? That's a boring game. Small games always are. Then again big games can get a bit out of hand. Which is what I'm looking for.

So you can DM your game, and be a player in mine! It'll be perfect. And this way, if you need help with DMing you can just ask me.

I've always played in small games and they were never boring.

I guess it depends on the DM. I'm going to hope I won't be like the ones you had...?

Just don't let Warren in your game and things should be far less boring. Trust me, the guy just makes one type of character: Useless.

Useless characters can still be amusing, if your roleplay is interesting. I don't like how a lot of D&D games are 99% combats and dice rolls.

But I'll remember your advice. I'll let him join into your game instead.

Oh yeah thanks a lot kiddo. Though I'm sure Warren's far to busy to join any games.

Yeah the dice rolls thing is kinda annoying. I like sitting back and watching the group go through puzzles and stuff. In-fighting's always fun to.

And just discussing. Or using diplomacy to get out of difficult situations instead of hitting on everyone.

Though sometimes it's amusing to punch an NPC in the face to get information... or just a random reaction. Especially if everything else is making you roll like crap. Natural 1 King right here.

The natural ones and twenties are one of the good things about rolls. They're always interesting.

Until you get to the point where that's all you're rolling.

I went through a whole session where it was all natural ones. My character was nearly eaten by a bush! A BUSH!

I am -- very tempted to ask if you were playing with anyone who might have had telekinetic powers and a reason to want your character to get... eaten by a bush.

Nah. I was playing with Scott, Warren, and Emma. None of them have telekinetic powers. I was just having crappy luck.
