[her voice gets further and closer from the mic at irregular intervals. She's unpacking and likes multitasking 8D]

I was wondering if there was a limit to the number of classes one can take here, or is it simply as many as one can handle? I've noticed several that I'd love to take and I certainly can handle the schedule. If there are timing ( Read more... )

(her accent gets ridiculously thicker the more she rambles)

I haven't heard about a limit. But I only arrived yesterday.

I don't think the teachers could have anythin' against takin' more classes if ya show that you can handle it. I'd think they'd want students that show some kind of initiative.

A teacher told me there is no limit, so I intend to take as many classes as I am able. I'll have to see about ones that are longer than an hour though... I'll work something out! It merely requires careful planning, that is all.

[she looks as if she's having to think about what you said] Oh well yes, initiative is usually rewarded!

Oh great! That means I don't need to decide between chemistry and physics or this school year. I was afraid I might an' since the subjects often go hand in hand that would've been pretty annoyin'.

[she purses her lips, head tilting as she remembers the rest of the message] What exactly is a homework diary? Is it ta provide help for rememberin' exactly what is due ta whom an' when? Like a planner?

[DON'T ASK IT WILL ONLY LEAD TO HORRIBLE THINGS. Like. Homework.]

Precisely! I don't see why most schools would limit one's classes to a select few. I do so adore science and history and I'll be taking as many of those as I can.

Oh a homework diary is precisely that. A planner for homework. One can't risk losing the specifics of one's assignment so I always use a homework diary. Unfortunately, others are not as diligent.

Those who cannot learn from history are doomed ta repeat it. Or so says George Santayana. An' I think it makes sense that one should at least learn the history of mutant rights if they are a mutant.

Do ya keep it in a regular planner? Or have ya developed somethin' specific to put the information in?

Certainly true and one should learn the history of mutant rights regardless. Normal humans should know it just as well as mutants. It affects everyone.

I have a special diary. [holds it up, showing off the daily pages and the already scribbled in pages for future goals]

I don't see history of mutant rights being taught in public school for a few more years at least. Not until they figure a few things out on the political side first.

[eyes widen in amazement] Ooooh. Very nice. I think I'll be takin' a page outta yer book an' doin' somethin' similar.

Well just because it isn't being taught doesn't mean it shouldn't. Honestly, mutants desire just as many rights as everyone else.

It's very useful. Everyone should have one.

Of course we do.

Maybe if you're able to show the validity of the homework diary it will be adopted by the teachers for their own curriculum use in the future. If nothing else it should decrease the amount of missed assignments.

Do you think I could. I mean, I tried to bring it up at Hogwarts but things never quite took off with it there. I will mention it in class though!

I will definitely help ya out in anyway I can with it. I think they would be vital in keepin' everythin' in order. An' some people need all the help they can get with that. Why in tarnation--[looks vaguely embarrassed at having used that word]--um, the world wouldn't teachers want them ta be used?

It was something about students revolting or the like. I can't see why teachers just can't make it mandatory. It's a lovely idea.

Why would anyone revolt over somethin' that is supposed to be helpful?

I don't really know! Some students just have no interest in their schoolwork.

I will never understand how one couldn't possibly want to know all that they can. Knowledge is powerful an' can help you in so many ways.

It's a wonder how some manage to pass year to year.
