Michael Jackson didn't really impact my life anymore than it did in anyone else who didn't live in a cave during the 80's. So, like everyone else, I hate to admit that I love to Dance (if even in a somewhat mocking manner) to his Music. He was pretty much everywhere for at least a decade. I always thought it was unfortunate that the media (prompted by the money-whores who sued him) did what they did to him. Although no one will ever "know" whether he diddled those kids, I highly doubt it. IMHO, I always thought of Jacko as a "Tortured Genius," whose ways are so bizarre to most Humies that many people just don't what to think of people like that. Sadly, such types so far out of the mainstream (re: his personal habits) that they literally become somewhat of an ink-blot test. With multiple perceptions and interpretations, the qualities people assign to such ambiguous individuals speak more about the personal bias of the speaker than any actual quality of the person being Judged--in this case, Jacko.
My own Interpretation is that he definitely had some DevelopMental issues (probably series of Traumas, including child abuse), but that he channeled those into both his Work and his Passions (which were often children, not unlike his idealized Self-Image). Having been quite the "tender soul" earlier in my life (I still am, but I've learned to "act" more "masculine" and generally be more Balanced), I can say that many people in society misinterpret "more than a certain amount of" nurturing, tenderness, and sensitivity (amongst other "feminine qualities") in males as various forms of "perversions." This is sadly one of many types of discrimination that goes on against males in our society that nobody ever talks about (because that would be "flaunting our male privilege" or whatever), and a bias that I have encountered my entire life, albeit to a lesser degree than Jacko. I've learned how to Balance it out--and the negative reactions of others have lessened, though not always disappeared. Hsing Yi has helped in no small measure in this dept.
The only other thing I'll say about Jacko is that I think anyone who is interested in learning Results Magick should take a look at Michael Jackson's life. He is the epitome of Success in his field, and his whole Life story has many Lessons--to follow or avoid--for anyone interested in Success.
My single favorite song of Michael Jackson's has always been "Man in the Mirror." It's a song about a lot of things, but particularly both "Change" and "Compassion," and includes the chorus that I absolutely love:
I'm starting with the man in the mirror
I'm asking him to change his ways
No message could have been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself and then make the change
You gotta get it right, while you got the time
'Cause when you close your heart
Then you close your mind The song title alone is enough to remind me that when I see things in my "external" environment that I don't like, I should look closer at my "internal" environment to see what Changes I can make. Because that's the only person I ever have control over--ME.
