I lost my ear piercings because I wasn't allowed to wear earrings as a utility meter reader. So I had to take out my earrings every morning, and by the end of the day the third day they'd closed too much. (They wouldn't even let us have studs in.)
This is why as soon as I have the credentials and experience, I'm going into private practice. I shall be known as the Tattooed Therapist! (Or at least be a therapist with tats.)
I can appreciate that. I still have excessive scar tissue (that manifests as a little bump) in my left ear lobe from taking out my earring every day and then putting it back in over the course of a few years.
The official reason was so that we wouldn't get the earrings torn out of our ears when crawling into bushes to get to meters. I don't see how simply rounded studs would be an issue, though.
Thanks :) I have about a year and a half of classes left, then the internship, so it'll be a bit. And I still have my navel pierced--they couldn't justify taking that one!
