Last night I had an absolutely fabulous dinner* with both
teriel &
lupabitch, who were passing through Eugene on the way back from presenting a workshop at FaerieWorlds. In addition to being able to show off the hard-won Results of my Othala Working--not to mention my signature "chicken soft taco" recipe--we had a great couple hours of conversation. It's always great to be able to be in the presence of other Adepts who are at similar places in their lives--not only Magickally (which is hardest to find), but career-wise, maturity-wise, etc. Talking with them last night also confirmed a variety of things on a variety of topics, not the least of which is my choice of vegetables for my recently renewed Operation 4 Health. Meeting up with them really made me wish that I lived in a larger metropolitan area with more Adepts I could meet up with in person. Alas, as I've gotten older and more in touch with my own Values ("Know Thy Selves"), I am only further reminded (by the day, it seems) how Eugene is such the perfect city for me. I don't see myself leaving here for at least a decade, and I'm doubtful anything is going to change that.
This coming weekend I will have the opportunity to meet up with a relatively new lj-friend--one who shares many friends with me. I am looking forward to meeting with
erynn999 and a few others, plus seeing both
erl_queen &
sannion for the first time since my move. They still haven't seen my new home, and I still have yet a few more friends to have over this month, which I'm very excited about.
* I must confess that the sheer joy I've found in simply "having people over for dinner" makes me feel really, really old. I guess I should be happy that I have such a beautiful home, and that I can take so much joy from such simple things, but the whole thought still makes me feel old as a goddamn mountain. I still don't feel a day over 26, though. I think I need to go put some kids half my age to shame on a Dance Floor somewhere--that always makes me feel younger again (goes and looks up the next local rave ;-)
