GAME UPDATE: APRIL 4 2010

Oct 30, 2010 16:21

NEWS:
⊗ On Monday, political commentator Ben Gleck makes waves when he proposes putting the "mutant cure" in the public water supply. Kentucky's governor goes on record as saying that it "might not be such a bad idea".
⊗ On Thursday, Red Lamp News airs an exclusive report on "the mutant problem" airs. Much ado is made about Tricell's potential mutant cure, but nothing that wasn't known before is revealed. There is, however, plenty of dramatic, scary music, interviews with tearful parents whose mutant children turned to drugs and crime, and an interview with a mutant teenager sitting in a shadowy room, voice altered electronically, who speaks in favor of the mutant cure as it would relieve her of her "power" which forces her to obey any command given to her.
⊗ This week, Zero is at it again. On Thursday, during the RLN special expose on the Tricell "mutant cure," Zero Airlines interrupts every single commercial break, preventing all ads that actually paid for airtime from being broadcast. Early reports during the days following are unable to trace the source of the broadcasts, but Zero is standing before a flag bearing his logo during each one. He’s got quite a lot to say about the flaws on both sides of this conflict. (During the broadcast, Lelouch uses his time for something productive, and takes his sister to Salem Center for a little shopping.)

THE XAVIER INSTITUTE:
⊗ It's raining. Raining all week. Get those raincoats out of storage, kids!
⊗ This week, word gets out that Spring Prom will be happening on May 24. Student Council, it's up to you to help plan and, if you like, put together a prom committee. Pick a theme! Make decorations! The staff will help you if you need anything.

THE BROTHERHOOD OF MUTANTS:
⊗ On Tuesday, Magneto makes a public statement that Ben Gleck is a pox on the face of the Earth.
⊗ Magneto's laser-eyed falcon catches a particularly large and plump mouse for dinner on Wednesday.

WHAT WOLVERINE DID THIS WEEK:
⊗ Got trapped in the 1960's after chasing a criminal in a Delorean. Will he make it back home?!

OOC NOTICES:
⊗ Remember: Sanctuary is happy to help young mutants to the Institute (be it from their own homes or from Genosha) or just take them in themselves. It's also willing to work with trusted independent characters (pretty much just ping us and you can become trusted through some plot device) on things. Basically, Sanctuary is there to give you things to do while not being too plot heavy or tied down to classes and such! They also hunt monsters sometimes. It's all cool.
⊗ As ever, this post is open for talking about what's going down for Xavier Institute classes, mentor group meetings, Brotherhood shenanigans, etc. We do encourage people to thread classes, mentor group activities, etc. where possible rather than just handwaving all of them, but if you don't want to do a thread or you want to plan something or w/evs, this is the place!

EXCELSIOR!
