"Earlier today, AP had the pleasure of talking with Head Automatica frontman Daryl Palumbo about the recording of his dance-rock group's upcoming album, and we couldn't let him up off the mat without answering a few questions about his on-again off-again, massively influential post-hardcore group Glassjaw.
"It... it exists," Palumbo says, when asked about Glassjaw's status. "We're all very, very busy. Manny [Carrero, bass] is currently in Saves The Day -- I don't know if he's an official member, but he's there; Durijah [Lang, drums] is playing in a band; Beck is very busy with his business; and I'm doing the Head Automatica thing.
"Me and Beck have been writing new songs," Palumbo continues. "We've even recorded a little bit in Beck's house. But I'm not gonna release anything that sounds like it was recorded on a boombox, you know?"
When asked about the possibility of a new Glassjaw album, Palumbo flatly states, "It's happening. I don't know if it will be out this year -- I don't know who's going to record it or anything -- but it's going to happen."
For those who wish to see Palumbo in his dance-rock alter ego, he is currently preparing to embark on a tour with Head Automatica (dates) this January and February with opening act Morningwood."
so maybe there is hope?
