post two - "I'm gonna love you forever, Lucas Scott."

Peyton: Lucas. Luke, what are you doing here?
Lucas: I go here, remember?
Peyton: Yeah, I also remember you had a heart attack.
Lucas: Well, the doctor said it was okay if I did some light activity. I mean, I won’t be training for a marathon anytime soon, but I can still come to class and daydream about my new girlfriend.
Peyton: Oh. Well, what happens in that daydream?
Lucas: I slowly, but very gently take her in my arms, and I bring her in real close like this…
Wow, last time we kissed it was so damn good I collapsed. I’m joking.
Peyton: Yeah.

Lucas: So, listen, there’s something I haven’t told anybody.
Peyton: Ooh, I love secrets.
Lucas: Well, when I was unconscious, I saw Keith.
Peyton: Luke, you and Nate should really talk.
Lucas: Not in like, the Sixth Sense sort of way. But, it felt so real.
Peyton: Well, don’t laugh but, anytime I have a dream about my mom or Ellie, I like to think it’s their way of contacting me from the other side. Like, dreams are e-mails for ghosts, it’s their way of sending me a message.
Lucas: Okay… Well, look, if there’s the remotest possibility that you’re right, then what message was Keith trying to send me?
Peyton: Well, I don’t know, what did you guys talk about?
Lucas: You, mostly.
(They kiss, she pulls away)
What, does my breath stink or something?
Peyton: No, no. You smell really good.
Lucas: Okay, then what?
Peyton: I’m just not a really big fan of PDA.
Lucas: Since when?
Peyton: Since, whenever. It just makes me uncomfortable.
Lucas: Good to know. So what, does PDA include holding hands? Hugging?
Peyton: Yeah, I guess so. Probably. I don’t know. Maybe not. I have English, I should go.

Haley: How are things with you and Lucas?
Peyton: Really good…. Not so good. Lately, I’ve kind of been ducking him.
Haley: Why? You guys are in, like, that honeymoon phase. You should be all blessed-out and having three-hour-long make-out sessions and long talks about when you first knew you wanted to be with each other.
Peyton: I’ve been holding in my feelings because I’m in love with him.
Haley: Which makes no sense whatsoever.
Peyton: Well, it does to me. The last time Lucas and I kissed, like, really kissed, he had a heart attack and almost died. I’m bad luck.
Haley: Oh shut up, you are not.
Peyton: Yeah, I am. Think about every person I’ve gotten close to. My mom, Jake, Ellie, Derek, where are they all now? Even my dad works a thousand miles away.
Haley: Peyton, there’s one thing that you’re not considering in all of this.
Peyton: What’s that?
Haley: None of those people are Lucas.

Lucas: You busy?
Peyton: No, just faking it. Sorry I was being a weirdo earlier.
Lucas: You mean when you didn’t kiss me on the quad or when you said “dreams are e-mail for ghosts”?
Peyton: Both.
Lucas: What’s wrong, Peyton?
Peyton: I wanna kiss you, Luke. I do. I just don’t want to lose you.
Lucas: Hey, what makes you think you’re gonnga lose me?
Peyton: Only the fact that I lose everyone I care about. Anytime I open up to someone, they walk out of my life or they die or they move away or they get shipped off to Iraq or they turn into freaking Normal Bates or-
Lucas: Not everyone.
Peyton: Luke, the last time we kissed, you had a heart attack.
Lucas: And I didn’t die. I couldn’t die. Do you know why? Because I had to come back and look into those green eyes of yours and tell you I love you. I do. I love you, Peyton. You didn’t push me away. I came back for you. And no matter how long it takes, I’ll wait for you.

Lucas: Hey, I’ve been waiting for you.
Peyton: I think we’ve waited long enough.

“Sometimes pain becomes such a huge part of your life that you expect it to always be there, because you can’t remember a time in your life when it wasn’t. But then one day, you feel something else, something that feels wrong, but only because it’s so unfamiliar, and, in that moment, you realize you’re happy.”
Lucas: Hey, Blondie. It’s gonna be a good day.
Peyton: It really is, isn’t it?

Teacher: Well, well. Passing notes, Mr. Scott? How about we share this with the class?
Lucas: I’d be happy to. It just says, that… “Peyton, you look amazing. And I can’t wait ‘till class is over so I can look into your green eyes and kiss your perfect lips.” Did I miss anything?
Teacher: Nope, t hat pretty much covers it. Peyton, care to respond?
(Peyton kisses Lucas)
Oh, young love. At least you’ll be together in detention.
Peyton: So worth it.

Peyton: Okay, just so you know, Kid A goes under R for Radiohead.
Lucas: And where did I put it?
Peyton: Somewhere in the middle of the foo fighters for some reason.
Lucas: You really alphabetize your collection?
Peyton: Yes, alphabetized by genre and sub-genre.
---
Peyton: How awesome is that?
Lucas: That’s pretty awesome. Kind of like your smile. No, happy looks good on you.
Peyton: Yeah? I feel like I’m living in an air supply song.
Lucas: Well, you know if we’re going to go 80’s, I’m more of a Van Halen fan.
Peyton: No it‘s just… everythin’gs better now, you know? Pinks are pinker, blues are bluer, and even my favorite foods taste yummier.
Lucas: Yummier?
Peyton: Yummier. What’s your favorite food?
Lucas: Chocolate chip cookies.
Peyton: I tell you what, they probably taste so much better.
Lucas: Well, if anyone can make a chocolate chip cookie taste better, I’m sure it’s you.
Peyton: Oh see? You’re so feeling the love.
Lucas: Oh sure, anything for a cookie.
Peyton: Come with me.

Lucas: If we’re both feeling the love, what are we doing in a cemetery?
Peyton: There’s somebody I want you to meet. Hi mom, it’s me. So this is Lucas, the boy I’ve been telling you about. Look what he’s done, he’s got me smiling. Can you believe it?
Lucas: Hey, Mrs. Sawyer. I just want you to know that Peyton’s the best thing I have in my life. I wouldn’t even be here if it wasn’t for her.
Peyton: Likewise. Can I have a sec?
Lucas: Yeah.
Peyton: So, what do you think? He’s cute, huh?
---
Peyton: Luke, hey, are you okay?
Lucas: You’re gonna think this is crazy but, I don’t think Jimmy killed Keith,

Skills: So how is everything going with you and Lucas? I mean, you happy?
Peyton: I’m happy.
Skills: That’s my girl. You know, love some times don’t really make sense. I mean, look at me and Bevin. But you two make sense.

Karen: I know that it is very hard for you to accept the truth because Jimmy was your friend. But he shot Keith, just like he shot Peyton. You should be thankful you still have her here. Don’t ever take her for granted.

Lucas: Peyton?
Peyton: I’m sorry.
Lucas: Oh, this is messed up.
Peyton: Yeah, I know, the timer didn’t go off.
Lucas: No, I mean like, I kind of expected it, you know? Like another day, another disaster.
Peyton: It’s like with everything that’s happened, we’ve become chaos junkies.
Lucas: So, I told my mom about seeing Keith. I didn’t even think about how much it was gonna upset her.
Peyton: Luke, you didn’t mean to hurt her.
Lucas: I know, but I did. I just want to let it all go away, you know? I don’t want to be like this anymore. How’d you like to just be happy?
Peyton: I thought you’d never ask.

Peyton: What, too hot? What?
Lucas: It’s a little salty.
Peyton: Salty? I put a dash of salt in there. That’s what it said to do on the recipe.
Lucas: How much is a dash? Show me. Oh, that’s… that’s more like a handful. Oh my god!
Peyton: Okay, well maybe this batch will be better. Try it out.
Lucas: No, still salty.
Peyton: Yeah.
Lucas: Yeah. You know, maybe I need a second opinion.
Peyton: No!
Lucas: Oh, you better run.

Peyton: Aw man, I got cookie dough all over me. It’s even in my bra, maybe I should take it off.
Lucas: What…
Peyton: Sucker! You surrender?
Lucas: I give up. I’m putting the lid down. Now, if you’re gonna be taking anything off, please, please, please let me help you.

Peyton: You know what, I think you missed some, right there.
Lucas: Really? You know what, I take that back. This is the best cookie I’ve ever had.
Peyton: Really?

Lucas: Hey, Glenda. You remember Peyton, right?
Glenda: Yeah sure. The loner.
Peyton: Loner cheerleader. I really like the picture you took of Lucas. The eye shadow was a little Fall Out Boy, though.
Gelnda: So Lucas, that book that you loaned me, I’m just in chapter ten, but I’d love to talk to you about it.
Lucas: Yeah, good. No, anytime.
Glenda: Okay.
Peyton: Bye. (To Lucas) What Book?
Lucas: Oh, I loaned her a copy of the Great Gatsby. She’s never read it, can you believe that?
Peyton: I took her for more of an Edgar Allen Poe girl.

Peyton: What’cha working on?
Lucas: Uh… look, I gotta be honest. Today I kinda lied to you. The book that I gave Glenda wasn’t the Gatsby. It’s what I’ve been writing. I needed an impartial opinion, so I gave it to her.
Peyton: I know there’s no tenth chapter in Gatsby. But thank you for telling me the truth.
Lucas: I’m sorry, I guess I’m just worried it’s not gonna be good.
Peyton: Well, um. What about me? I can be impartial.
Lucas: I don’t think so.
Peyton: Why?
Lucas: Because you’re in it.
Peyton: Give me that book right now.
Lucas: No way.
Peyton: Please?
Lucas: It’s not ready.
Peyton: Pretty please with… me on top?
Lucas: Well, I can be persuaded.
---
Peyton: Okay no. Okay, stop stop stop. I don’t think so.
Lucas: Oh c’mon, I’ll let you read the first six chapters of my book.
Peyton: That’s very sexy, but I just want our first time to be special. And right now it’s really not with a National CD wedged underneath by back. Which is a very good album, by the way. I’m sure your mom’s gonna come in any second.
Lucas: She’s working at the café, and nobody’s gonna walk in.
(Brooke walks in)
Brooke: Okay, my discomfort meter is pretty much peaked. Hi, sorry.

Peyton: You know I love him. I really do. But I never meant for my love for him to hurt you.
Brooke: Thank you, Peyton.

Peyton: So, have you written the chapter where you take your girlfriend up to that empty bedroom at the party?
Lucas: Hm, well I think I may need to do a little research first.
Peyton: I was hoping you’d say that.

Lucas: I thought you said you wanted to wait.
Peyton: Do you remember what you said the last time we were here? You said you wanted it all and, I walked away. I made a big mistake that night ‘cause all I wanted was sex.
Lucas: What do you want now?
Peyton: Now I want what you wanted. I want everything with you.

Peyton: What’s going on out there?
Lucas: I don’t know
Guy: Dude, you gotta see this! There’s a tape of Peyton having sex with Nathan!
Peyton: Oh my god!

Lucas: Still upset?
Peyton: No, something like that you forget about pretty quick.
Lucas: Dumb question, I guess. Hopefully the prom will take your mind off this whole thing.
Peyton: Yeah, that should be fun. Maybe my cheating ex-boyfriend will ask me to dance or I’ll get to share some punch with my whore of an ex-friend.
Lucas: I know this sucks, okay? But you shouldn’t let it ruin the prom.
Peyton: It shouldn’t, but it does.
Lucas: For what it’s worth, I saw Brooke this morning and she feels horrible about it.
Peyton: So the first thing you did this morning was go see Brooke?
Lucas: It was on the way.
Peyton: You know what else is on the way? My front door, shut it when you leave.

Lucas: Hey, you were right. I should have checked on you first, I’m sorry.
Peyton: It’s okay.
Lucas: I like the red dress.
Peyton: You would. It’s Brooke’s.
Lucas: Why do you have it?
Peyton: So she doesn’t.
Lucas: Okay, don’t you think stealing Brooke’s prom dress is going a little bit too far?
Peyton: No, I think going a little too far is making your friend feel like a whore when you’ve done worse.
Lucas: Didn’t we kind of do the same thing to her?
Peyton: We had sex? That’s funny, I don’t really remember. It must not have been very good.
Lucas: Look, we didn’t have sex, but, we did sneak around behind her back.
Peyton: Do you ever actually defend the person you’re dating?
Lucas: Look Peyton, I know you’re upset, okay? But I also know that you could take the high road. This is completely beneath you.
Peyton: Like, Nathan beneath Brooke? Or was that Brooke beneath Nathan?

Lucas: Hi.
Peyton: Hi.
Lucas: Can we just put this whole thing behind us and have a good time at prom?
Peyton: I’m not going.
Lucas: Why? Did something else happen?
Peyton: No, I just don’t care about prom.
Lucas: Oh look, Peyton. We don’t have to see Brooke. It’ll be fun, I promise you that.
Peyton: It’s not about Brooke, I just really don’t wanna go anymore. You can still go if you want.
Lucas: Look, I think you’re gonna regret not going. I know that I’ll regret not going with you.
Peyton: I just can’t, I’m sorry.
Lucas: Well, I really hope you change your mind. Because I’m coming back later and I’m picking you up. And if you open that door, I know that you’re gonna look beautiful. And that we’re gonna have a great night. And if not, I guess I’m going alone.

Nathan: When you get to prom-
Peyton: I’m not going.
Nathan: Hey, I know you’re mad at me and Brooke, but don’t take this out on Lucas.
Peyton: I’m not, I just don’t care. I’m you, two years ago.
Nathan: No you’re not. You never were. Why do you think you stayed with me when I treated you so bad?
Peyton: I’m a masochist.
Nathan: Because you cared, that’s who you are. You care about Lucas because you know he loves you. And you probably still care about me and Brooke because you know we love you too. Just face it, Peyton. You care. So get dressed, and go with Lucas. I’ll see you there.

Peyton: Lucas, I…
Psycho!Derek: Hi, Peyton.

Lucas: Guess I have my answer.

Lucas: Hey Peyton, this isn’t right. You’re the one I wanna be with tonight, prom or not. So call me, okay? Please.

Psycho!Derek: Another text from Lucas, let’s see what it says. “I’m so sorry, please talk to me. Prom sucks without you.” Let’s reply. “Sorry, running late. Wait for me. Hugs and kisses.” Is that emoticon too much, you think? Oh, what the hell. “Semi-colon, close parenthesis”

Lucas: So this is where Peyton and I hid on the say of the shooting. She told me she loved me. I just figured it was because she lost a lot of blood. But on some level, I knew it was true. I was just too afraid to admit it because it would hurt Brooke.

Skills: Damn, nice work.
Lucas: Oh, oh. It’s not… It’s the attack last week. Neither one of them wants to be alone.

Lucas: Peyton wrote to me in my sophomore yearbook, “Peyton Sawyer.”
Peyton: Come on! I didn’t even know you then!
Lucas: Do you know how hard I worked to get my yearbook in front of her? And then she signs her damn name. I was crushed.

Lucas: But I do know that we should’ve stuck to the interstate and not taken the back roads just so Haley could see the sandwich shaped like Elvis.
Haley: Hey!
Peyton: Hey, hold on a second. I too, wanted to see the sandwich shaped like Elvis. I’m pretty sure we all did, right?
Haley: Thank you.
Peyton: And Lucas, admit it. You wanted to see the Elvis sandwich too, didn’t you?
Lucas: Fine, I wanted to see the Elvis sandwich, okay? But that doesn’t change the fact that we haven’t seen a single car pass by since we stopped.
Brooke: Um…
Lucas: Until now.
Nathan: It’s a bus.
Brooke: That’s a tour bus.
Peyton: Oh please be the Foo Fighters.
Skills: Please be Kanye.
Chris Keller: Well, well…
Haley: Stupid. Elvis. Sandwich.

Haley: Honey Grove’s prom is tonight, we should go. C’mon, our prom sucked, our car broke down.
Brooke: Yeah, and we got attacked by a psycho.
Mouth: What?
Peyton: Long story.
Lucas: Okay so what, we’re just gonna crash the Honey Grove prom?

Peyton: Lucas Scott, will you go to prom with me?
Lucas: Absolutely.

Peyton: Thanks for being so good to me this week, Luke. And to Brooke. It means everything.
Lucas: I’d do anything for you.
Haley: Uh, could you get a room?
Peyton: Do you want to?
(Lucas nods)

Peyton: Luke, I’m really glad we waited. Last year would’ve been just sex, and now I… I am so in love with you.
Lucas: I love you too, Peyton.

Skills: I gotta stop doing this.
Peyton: Oh god, I’m so sorry. Really!
Mouth: Well, that was uncomfortable.

Lucas: Hey you. You okay? Wow, you look beautiful. You seem sad.
Peyton: No, I’m not. It’s just, I really love you Lucas. And, it’s a big deal.
Lucas: I love you too, Peyton. I promise.

Peyton: I applied for this internship with Sire Records a few months ago and I just found out I got it.
Brooke: Seriously?
Peyton: They need an answer as soon as possible.
Brooke: So, say yes.
Peyton: It’s in Los Angeles.
Brooke: Wait, we can spend the summer together in L.A. We can stay with my parents and… this is kind of perfect.
Peyton: Yeah, I know. I just have to tell Lucas.

Brooke: Have you told Lucas about the internship yet?
Peyton: No, I haven’t been able to reach him.
Brooke: Sorry, but you might wanna get used to it. Life as Lucas Scott’s girlfriend can get pretty lonely sometimes.

Peyton: Excuse me, I have a boyfriend.
Lucas: Really, where is he?
Peyton: Good question, I’ve been wondering that myself for two days
Lucas: Yeah, I guess I deserve that.
Peyton: Makes a girl feel cheap. Give it up in Honey Grove then poof! Vanishing boyfriend.
Lucas: Poof?
Peyton: Poof.
Lucas: Look, I’m sorry. I kind of have this habit of crawling into my shell.
Peyton: Well, quit your dumb habit because your girlfriend really needs you this weekend.
Lucas: What’s going on?
Peyton: I have an impossible decision to make and not a whole lot of time to make it in.
Lucas: Okay. Look, I’m here now. Tell me about it.
Peyton: Um, I applied for an internship at Sire Records a few months ago, before we were together. And I just found out I got it.
Lucas: Oh my god, that’s great.
Peyton: It’s in Los Angeles.
Lucas: Take it. You deserve it.
Peyton: I don’t wanna leave you.
Lucas: I will be here when you get back. But you are destined for greatness, Peyton. We both know that. This is your fist step, you can’t pass that up.
Peyton: Are you sure?
Lucas: Yeah. I’m so proud of you. Look, Peyton, you know I love you, right?
Peyton: Yeah.
Lucas: No matter what happens to either one of us, you will always be in my heart.

Peyton: I told Lucas about the internship.
Brooke: What’d he say?
Peyton: He told me to go.
Brooke: He’s right. Was there a part of you that was hoping he’d ask you to stay?
Peyton: No, no. It’s not that. There’s something going on with him, and I just worry about being away all summer.
Brooke: Peyton, when has Lucas ever not made the right decision?
Peyton: Well, let’s see. Uh, he didn’t take his heart pills and collapsed recently.
Brooke: You know what I mean. Okay, if you’re worried about your relationship, it’s one thing, but I don’t think you need to be. Lucas is right, take the internship.

Peyton: Hi. How’s she doing?
Lucas: Not so good. The doctor says what she has could attack her kidneys and her lungs, everything.
Deb: Hi Peyton.
Peyton: Hi.
Deb: Do you mind giving me and Lucas a moment to talk?
Peyton: Yeah. I’ll go get us some coffee.
Deb: Thanks.

Peyton: Hey.
Lucas: Hey.
Haley: Hey, how’s Karen?
Deb: No change.
Peyton: Is there anything that we can do?
Deb: Yeah, it’s your last day as high school students. You can go and be kids for the rest of the day.
Lucas: I’m not leaving my mother.
Deb: If anything changes, I will call you immediately. I promise you.
Haley: It’s a good idea, Luke. You should go home, get some food, take a shower.
Nathan: Yeah, you do kind of stink.
Peyton: Come on.

Peyton: I’m really glad you came back, I missed you.
Lucas: You think we could just stay here for the rest of the summer?
Peyton: Yeah, there was a chance of that ‘till I took that internship.
Lucas: It’s okay, I’m glad you did.
Peyton: Yeah, but it’s gonna be a long summer.
Lucas: Nah, it’ll fly by.
Peyton: You know, I.. I really do appreciate you being supportive about all of this, but a little bit of disappointment would be good for my ego.
Lucas: I just want you to be happy, Peyton. You have so much magic in you, I don’t want to hold that back.
Peyton: But everything’s okay?
Lucas: I wish we’d never left that hotel room in Honey Grove, because you’re perfect. And we’re perfect and that night was perfect.
Peyton: Well, saying that just earned you another one.
Lucas: I gotta get back to the hospital.
Peyton: Can I come with you?
Lucas: Sure. Just, let me hold you for a couple more minutes. That’s what’s gonna fix me.

Dr. Hudson: I wanna prep her for surgery and deliver the baby by cesarean.
Lucas: And then everything will be okay, right? With my mom and the baby?
Dr. Hudson: Well, we have to take one life at a time, Luke. Right now, both lives are in danger. But if we act now, we can save the baby, and we’ll have a much better chance at helping your mom.
Lucas: I wanna be there with her when you deliver the baby.
Dr. Hudson: Of course.

Dr. Hudson: Lucas, say hello to your sister.

Peyton: Oh, look how beautiful she is.
Lucas: Yeah, I’m afraid to move her, I’m gonna break her.
Peyton: You’re not gonna break her. You wanna hold her?
Peyton: Yeah. Okay, support her head. Come here, you. Hi.
Haley: Oh, let’s see her. She’s so pretty.
Nathan: Wow. I’m officially scared to death again.
---
Haley: Hey, I was wondering if maybe you’d be able to step out for a minute.
Peyton: Go ahead, I’ll watch her.
Haley: It’s just a minute.
Lucas: I’ll be right back, mom. (To Lily) And you. (To Peyton) And you.

Peyton: Luke, hey. We should probably get going if we’re gonna make it to graduation on time.
Lucas: I kind of just thought I’d skip it.
Peyton: Okay. Before you do, I think there’s something you should see. You skip graduation, we’re all gonna skip with you.
Haley: Even me, Luke.
Peyton: Remember what you told me about how much I’d regret it if I skipped prom? You were right. And I think your mom would want you to graduate with all your friends.
Deb: You can wait here or you can wait there. It’s all the same waiting. I promise you I’ll call. You should go.
Haley: Come on, Luke. We can’t imagine doing this without you.

Lucas: You’ve got to be kidding me. Again?
Peyton: I guess.
Lucas: Hm. Doesn’t look like anything’s wrong. You sure it won’t start? Peyton?
Peyton: Oh, the car’s fine. I was just feeling sentimental about the first time we spoke.
Lucas: Feeling sentimental or avoiding packing for your trip to Los Angeles with Brooke tomorrow?
Peyton: I don’t wanna go. I mean, I do wanna go. I’m just… I’m gonna miss you.
Lucas: Come on, look. At least you know what you’re gonna do.
Peyton: You still haven’t decided yet?
Lucas: I just didn’t see this other thing coming, you know?
Peyton: Can I help you?
Lucas: I don’t think so. I just keep telling myself there will be some significant moment when I will know what to do. How about you? Can I help you?
Peyton: Yeah. Remember when your mom was in the hospital and you asked me to just lie with you and heal you?
Lucas: Yeah.
Peyton: I think I could use some of that healing before tomorrow.
Lucas: I can do that.

Peyton: Maybe I don’t even have to go. What to interns do anyway? They like, answer phones. I already know how to answer a phone. Look. Hello?
Lucas: You’re going. And you’re gonna have fun.

Lucas: I’m sorry, I just… I’ve been trying to put a good face on it. God, I love you so much, Peyton.
Peyton: So you want me to stay?
Lucas: Yeah.
Peyton: Then I’ll stay.
Lucas: No, you won’t. I just… I want you to stay, but I won’t let you. And do you know why? Because I’ve told you before, you are destined for greatness, and it starts tomorrow morning.
Peyton: It’s not gonna matter anyway, whether I stay or go, with us. Because I’m gonna love you forever, Lucas Scott.

Peyton: Girls vs. boys!

Brooke: We’re all gonna be friends forever, I know it.
Lucas: Look, in four years we’re gonna be right back here. We’ll be done with college, wherever we go. Right?
Everyone: Yeah.
Nathan: Hey, you ready for a rematch or are you afraid you’re gonna get worked?
Lucas: Do you really wanna end your night with a loss, huh?
Mouth: Good evening ladies and gentleman, and welcome to another historic night.
Nathan: You sure you’re up to this, old man?
Lucas: I could do this forever, little brother.
