129 - Forks, WA FTW!
So for those of you who have read the Twilight series, and know that they take place in the teeny tiny town of Forks, WA, and would KILL to go there JUST because Bella and Edward live there, be prepared to be jealous lol.
Me, my mom, and my sister all took a road trip today. First, we drove the 2 1/2 hours to Forks (from Hoquiam, also mentioned in New Moon...thats where Bella and Jacob went to get motorcycle parts) and we started out by going to this little coffee stand, and at first I was all embarrassed because I felt stupid and touristy, but the lady at the stand said they get TONS of people there "vampire hunting" and that we shouldn't feel lame.
So then we went to the Thriftway, which is the only grocery store in town, where Bella shopped, and the Outfitters store, where she probably worked. They had Twilight sweatshirts that say "Love at first bite - Forks, WA" and we bought some.
Then we went to the chamber of commerce, where they had a Twilight sign they had us stand under, and took our pictures. As soon as they post them on the Forks website, I'll post it here. But they gave us a packet with lots of info on Forks, things to do, a map of Forks with "Twilight Points of Interest" on it, info on La Push, and Port Angeles. It also had a little baggie of sand from First Beach! And the lady showed us this booklet of newspaper clippings, and pictures of the Twilight cast. While we were standing there, there was a phone call the lady took, and it was actually the director of the Twilight movie, saying that they weren't going to be filming ANY of the movie there. They had planned on filming at LEAST the beach scenes on the actual La Push reservation, and First Beach, but they decided to stay in Oregon. So we were the very first people to find that out! Even though its sad.
So then we went around to the Forks Hospital, Police Station, this other little pharmacy that we bought shirts that say "My Last Twilight: I was bitten in Forks."
Then we went to La Push. There wasn't much there, but we passed this red house with a garage next to it, that we decided HAD to be Jacob's and Billy's house. :D
And we stopped at the beach. It was beautiful. Lots of cliffs for diving off of!
And then it was off to Port Angeles, where we ate at La Bella Italia, and the girl who was our server told us that the booth we were sitting in would have been the one that Bella and Edward sat at! :D
And we went to the bookstore that Bella was almost mugged outside of. Bella totally should have went there, it was a good bookstore!
But I took video of all this trip, and I'll be posting it on Thursday, and I'll show you guys!
Also, I'm getting my bottom lip tattooed on Thursday. It'll say DFTBA!
