Moment of Clarity on Television Earlier Today

Mar 28, 2004 22:49

This afternoon I was watching TV before I took my nap, and I came across the 'E' network. The show that was on was a countdown show called "The 101 Reasons the 90's Ruled." I tuned in towards the end of the show so I caught the number 2 and number 1 spots. Now if you have seen any other recent countdown shows you should know that the number 1 spot is always occupied by Nirvana, no matter what the countdown is about. Whether it is "Top 10 rock bands" or the Food network's "Top 10 Kitchen Gadgets of the 20th Century," number one is always Nirvana. So when I turned the channel to the 'E' network and saw Nirvana I thought that this was the number one spot, and I was not surprised. So I continued to watch the Nirvana segment, and at the end the announcer said "We'll be right back with the number 1 reason why the 90's ruled!" So by now they had my attention because I was completely taken by surprise to see that Nirvana only came in at number 2. So I watched through the commercial break to see what the number 1 reason was. I was so happy to see what occupied the number one spot, it was the TV show Seinfeld. I completely agree with this choice to make Seinfeld the number 1. This TV show completely revolutionized the sitcom industry. Nirvana's reign has ended, all hail the mighty Seinfeld!
