so...I finally finished my philosophy paper. I am very thankful for that. It had to be 10 pages and usually I can write on any given subject for a lengthy period of time. In the case of this paper, I had writers block after page 3! I knew the material so i'm not quite sure what was wrong, I suppose I just had a lot on my mind.
Last night was fun. There is this picture i've been wanting to take but when I go to take it, what I want isn't present! Last night I tried again and it was not present again FUCK! Oh well, i'll get it one of these days.
Pete and I crusied to MC and visited Mike and Grant at work. We then proceeded to go to my new found love...Shorline Brewery. They have good music and its a fun environment not to mention its microbrew beer, YUM! We ran into a few people and had some good converations. I suppose I was a wee bit tipsy but I got into some political conversation with Becky's friend who is from Germany. I learned a great deal of insight. I proceeded to express my political views which is a rarity. I always find myself facinated in converation when I meet a foreigner.
The topic of country pride came up. I always like to make it evident that I am not an American dumbfuck or atleast I try not to be. As was mentioned, all countries have a sense of self-pride and arrogance towards other countries but I find it a bit extreme in America as an American. I am rather fascinated by other cultures specifically European ones. To many times am I faced in conversation with the anti-other countries shit.
This is a great example though a nerdy one...I played xbox online a few weeks ago and played with a guy from Germany and one from England. I know I am stereotyping here but also present was a guy who was probably from the southern region of the U.S. He was a complete arrogant uneducated fuck. He was telling the German guy to leave the game for the simple fact that he does not speak English. And was telling the Englishmen that we need to join forces as a English speaking countries and abolish the rest of the world who are non English speaking. ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?! Germany's second language is English and all Germans know how to speak English as they are throughly taught it in school. I just find it ridiculous. It is people like that (though I hate to say it) make me hate being an American.
Becky's friend was telling me she was anti-American as I guess she says a large portion of Germany actually is. She never thought she would move here and she said now that she has she doesn't mind it. She said how beautiful of a country it is and that all the people she had met thus far aren't what she thought they would be. I think its horrible that many Americans don't give a shit about other countries and belive that it is our way or no way. I suppose being an art major really opens your eyes. The beginning majority of art in itself evolved from european countries and its work from the periods really depicts alot of interesting history. If it wasn't for any of that which took place, we wouldn't be here anyways.
Blah........
In other unrelated issues. I got my new lense, 12-24 nikkor. I can't wait to use it. The only thing that gets in the way of my desires to shoot non-stop would be 1. my school work and 2. this horrid weather though, there are many interesting things which can be captured snow covered.
Godspeed
