this article in the times, i'm not the only one who isn't completely sold on facebook and their complete disregard for my internet paranoia. four guys from nyu are fighting back, by coding an entirely new social networking platform. one without a centralized info bank. one that doesn't appropriate and then sell your personal information. it's called
diaspora*, and i'm seriously thinking of leaving facebook for it when it opens in the fall. probably not immediately or all at once, i don't know enough about it yet. but from the little i've seen and read, it's a viable option. it's an option that i'm seriously considering.
