I'd like to expand on the theory posts as they are written shortly after our runs, which end at midnight of a bit after. This can cause the posts to be a bit "muddled" due to my head wanting to sleep rather than post.
These are the factors that we are playing with at the moment.
1) You get to pick the direction 4 times.
2) From these you can be given a maximum of 2 Left/Right forks.
3) You can get a fork for the final path which leads to the boss.
Expanding on these factors you can map the paths one of two ways (taking into account that you can only fork off twice). Originally my theory had that you moved up a floor either left, right or straight. This resulted in 5 possible landing points. Vedder posted a reply with another movement theory. Rather than move up when you go left of right, you move parallel to the current room rather than diagonal. This resulted in 6 possible landing points.
Current findings are as follows.
LSLS (A1, B4) - Goliard (Faf)
SSLS (A2, B2) - Goliard (Faf)
LSRS (A3, B5) - Denali (Ada)
RSRS (A5, B6) - Askar (Khi)
RSSR (A5, B3) - ??? (Cerb)
SSSS (A3, B1) - ??? (Faf)
SSRS (A4, B3) - ??? (Cerb)
Key:
LRS - Left, Right, Straight
A# - Original Path Theory, 5 possible ends numbered Left to Right.
B# - Vedder's Path Theory, 6 possible ends numbered Left to Right, Top to Bottom.
The results would indicate that (A1-A2 or B2,B4) = Goliard, (A3 or B5) is Denali, and (A5 or B6) = Askar. I would like to unofficially expand Denali to (A3 or B1,B5) and Askar to (A4-A5 or B3,B6) as there seems to be a pattern there. This is unofficial until further drops and records are inputted.
