Warm days like today, I love Ann Arbor.
Loving Vignettes:
I wandered into the monthly Kerrytown Trunkapalooza, where locals sell their trash out of the trunk of their cars. They had some cutesy trinkets and comic books, but I actually unexpectedly ended up buying something on the fly. Abhik's been looking for an outdoor umbrella for his new deck, but since the deck is well-shaded, he hasn't wanted anything too fancy, just for the times when we're using our computers out there. And woudln't you know it, those Aut Bar entrepreneurs were selling $5 umbrellas, just for me.
Sidebar: I am the best girlfriend ever. I lugged that crap another 5 blocks. I'll say more on that walk later.
Speaking of Abhik's deck, we've been spending time out there when I come home from work. It's huge, and he has a nice table where we eat dinner and drink beer. It's so nice to be outside.
I've been thinking about the social glory that comes from a city that takes care of its outdoors. It raises the standard of living for everyone EVERYONE.
I'm pretty close to buying a dresser/nightstand from Craigslist. I don't even read the news anymore, just craigslist. It's insane the kind of crap you can find on there.
I sometimes wish I was a bartender. Drunks are so stupid.
So today on my long walk from trunk sale to Abhik's, I met a man. His name was... something brown, I don't know, and he was something like 65ish. He stopped me to ask if the umbrella I was carrying was his. Then he went on to tell me he thought I was beautiful blah blah blah, he wanted to buy me dinner sometime, and that he wanted to give me a gift: a kiss. For ONCE, ever, I was happy to say that the umbrella was a gift for my BOYFRIEND. and he loses.
oh and then I saw some dude get rear ended. talk about seeing a shooting star...
and I'm tired. Come visit if you could, it's such a good little town.
ps, going to mkatm's tomorrow WHO'S IN??
