HAHAHAHAHAAHH i hate this week
Sometime in 1984, a little girl was born to then-poor D. and H. Grifka. Suddenly, the average sensibility of the universe dipped just a bit.
So I'm sitting at work the other day, and I check my email for the second time in an hour. No big deal, except this time I get 50 new emails. FIFTY. From eBay. Telling me that my things had successfully listed. Crap like Will and Grace DVD box sets and seasons worth of 24. I've never even seen the Sopranos, let alone sell it on ebay.
Awesome, I thought. Spam. I'm not clicking that noise. But ohhhh Abhik did. And not only did he discover that it was not spam but that I had listed many, many items. But no wait I didn't. I was hax0rd.
What to do? I changed my password, took the ebay tutorial on how not to be a turd and get your shits haxd and talked to a nice ebay rep and she tells me everything is A-OK. Sidebar: Ebay suggested that barring a bad breakup and a malicious ex, two things could have happened. 1) I fell subject to a spoof email, clicked, entered my password, and was phished or, 2) somehow some 1337 bastard was clever enough to unwravel the cryptic amalgamation of numbers, letters, and punctuation that was my password. I really did think "Grifka" was cryptic. I'm such a n00b.
So that was supposed to be all settled. Then in a yet unrelated story, Abhik's phone died. It wasn't his battery, it's just something with the charging function on his phone. Or something. So Saturday, he went to call vErizon to authorize a new account with my phone. Hell no, said my phone, and gave a nice "Service Required" message permanently. What does that even mean, I don't know. This is the 2nd LGvx6000 phone i've had, this is the second time I've recieved a "service required" message that ruins my life for about a week.
Lesson: don't get the LGvx6000, even if it is $30 on ebay.
So I don't have a phone. yesterday my car ran out of gas before I could even move it. That's not really related, I'm just chronicling my week of getting kicked in the teeth. Also yesterday, I bought a new phone on ebay. I thought, "meh, I could spend all week shopping for the best deal on the best phone or I could just buy a normal phone now and get on with it." So I paid my bill and expected a "shipped!" email from ebay. But I got nothing. I got an email saying this:
bitch, you got $6 worth of listing fees for that time you were a turd and made your password your last name and then they haxed your account and now you have to go through riggamaroll and so you can't pay for your new phone until you pay these fees that aren't yours and so you do NOT GET YOUR PHONE EVER.
So that's been my week. I have no phone, no gas, no interweb at home (oh btw i was hoping to buy a laptop this week with all the money i wasn't spending on phones lol), and no food in my stomach. I feel terrible.
