Timeline, you think? Perhaps a narrative? Meh, timeline should do it.
May 2004 -- Motorola 60s, grey and black, no bells and whistles. It worked.
March 2005 -- I have had enough of the dropped calls in my basement apartment on Geddes Ave. Verizon switches the antenna on my phone. Success! It's like getting a new phone, but it's still the old phone! I haven't lost it or broken it yet in a year!
March 2006 -- Phone begins to show noticable signs of wear: top begins to twist on the hinge and crack, phone slower to respond, generally a result of everyday wear and tear.
April 2006 -- Phone begins to make a strange sound but not make the sounds it's supposed to make, like ringing and Abhik's voice (ahh, that first expensive phone bill). It works if it's reset.
May 2006 -- My New Every Two promotion. And what do I go for? The Pink Razr. So long, breaking plain gray phone. You have served me well, and I have kept you for two years without issue. Now I begin my indulgence phase, with a pink high-end camera phone with a 1.3 megapixel lens. I finally feel like an adult.
June 2006 -- While playing in the river, the phone slips out of my shirt pocket and into the water. My brother was coming to visit that day, so it was imperative that I get ahold of him. I attempt to use the phone too early, and possibly as a result, it is never revived. So much for the only nice thing I've ever owned. I'm back to the busted grey phone, which the man at Verizon informs me smells like beer on the inside. It'll hold out until July.
July 2006 -- Grey phone really starts to go bad. I order a new phone on Ebay: an LG6000 camera phone. I pay $60 for it, and have a good time reading the former owners old text messages.
Early August 2006 -- At Clint's house, I decide to do an inebriated load of laundry because I got my pants dirty. I forget to take my phone out of the pants pocket. The phone turns on, but behaves strangely. It needs to be charged often. Eventually, it can only be turned on if it's on the charger and even then it doesn't stay on for long. I assume something is wrong with the battery.
Mid August 2006 -- I order a new battery on eBay. I pay 8 dollars for the battery, $7 of which went to "shipping", and could not be refunded. Luckily, a new battery was the fix. Unluckily, I got greedy and anxious. I suspected before recieving the battery that it might not work out, and I order a new phone on ebay. $30 for the same LG6000.
Two days after recieving fix battery in mail -- I drop the phone in the toilet. It dries and works.
five days after recieving fix battery in mail -- I drop the phone at starbucks and the feet that hold the battery into the bottom of the phone snap off. Scotch tape is now holding my phone together.
so now I'm waiting to get my new phone, which I will probably try to sell again. Or will I? Seems to be a handy thing to have around. I'm retarded.
