Background: Branwen was born from a relationship started out of spite. The Archangel Gabriel had been sent to earth to keep watch over a young woman named Adrianna Duane, a servant girl working on an Irish farm and the next predicted prophet of heaven. While in his charge Adrianna had started to fall for the Archangel and his beauty and grace. He had always been kind to her and in turn she did all she could to take care of him in his human form on earth. Inevitably Gabriel also fell for her.
Deciding that he wanted to keep her and cherish her as she was, Gabriel went to Metatron and asked him to find a new prophet to speak God’s words to. He wished to have Adrianna as a pet. Metatron agreed on the terms that Gabriel would find him a new and suitable prophet. For such a simple task Gabriel had no qualms accepting. He returned to Earth and told Adrianna the news; that she could come to heaven with him and stay with him for the ages as soon as he could find a new prophet. Ecstatic the servant girl exclaimed her love for the angel and promised she would wait for his return to her and her ascension to heaven.
News of the new prophet had already surfaced however, and without a new prophet found and Gabriel’s protection Adrianna was vulnerable to attack. And the first drawn to her was hell’s own son, Damien. Now truthfully past the fact that she would be a prophet Damien had no interest in the woman. The knowledge of what made a prophet a true prophet was unknown, whether it was a born genetic trait, random selection of the angels, or any other number of possibilities. Though it was common belief that prophets had to remain virgins for their powers to work. And so Damien set out to soil that in Gabriel’s precious woman prophet. By the time the angel returned Lucifer’s son had fled but his damage had been done. Adrianna was pregnant.
Disgusted with the child that his woman was now carrying, Gabriel left Adrianna. And dedicated to God and the angels, Adrianna could not abort her child. So she carried the baby to term and days after her daughter’s birth gave her up for adoption. Taken in by the Protestant Church the baby was given the name Branwen. A week after her arrival in the orphanage, the building was burnt to the ground leaving very few survivors. Upon the discovery of his seed, Damien returned to claim the child and brought her back to the Citadel in the Paradox. There she was raised and her limited powers were established and honed. She was put in the ‘Reaper’ class and trained to harvest souls for her father and grandfather.
Now she is living on Earth again with an adoptive family. While her school attendance is horrific, her reaping powers are top notch. Currently her powers include a death touch and aura, phasing/teleportation over short distances and, when pushed to an extreme rage, she is able to explode objects around her.
