R.I.P.

I just got home from the movies with Spence, and was surfing through my usual websites before bed when I recieved an IM from my friend Dean. He wanted to know if I knew a girl named Robyn Kress. I said that I didn't. Well, Dean is good friends with Robyn, and found out just today that her brother, James Ryan Kress, hung himself in his garage 2 days ago. It took a moment for the fact to hit me that this was the same Ryan Kress that I've known since elementary school. I've known him longer than probably 90% of my friends today. We used to be great friends although we haven't hung out in a number of years. I always saw him around the neighborhod, and we always had a good word or two for each other whenever we passed by.

I'm taking off work tommorow to go to his memorial service. I'd prefer if anybody needs to reach me tommorow morning, they use a text message or something similar.

James Ryan Kress

Kress, James Ryan, 20, a resident of Davie, FL, passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2004. James was a veterinary technician. Survived by his mother Linda of Davie, father Randy of Cooper City, sister Robyn of Cooper City, maternal grandmother Willa Moeller of Cincinnati, Ohio, paternal grandparents Jim & Jean Kress of Satellite Beach, FL and by all the other lives he touched. A memorial gathering will be Saturday from 9 AM to 10 AM at FRED HUNTER'S UNIVERSITY DRIVE 2401 S. University Drive in Davie. Memorial service at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention (SFSP), Palm Beach and Broward County Chapter, 5200 Town Center Circle, Suite 306, Boca Raton, FL 33486.
