This past week has been one big long sigh of relief. Shifts at work have increased as of late, so I find myself slightly less broke. I have at least enough money for the odd splurge here or there, on top of being able to afford day-to-day necessities. Better though, is that things at work are slowly improving, with a possible promotion on the horizon. I will continue to hunt for something new in the meantime.
Now, for the items suggested by my title (Well, really Steinbeck's title, but it applies).
For the past week, I have been sharing my abode with Brad, and Brad alone. Kyle has been up in Keswick working, so we've had the house to ourselves. As much as I love Kyle (Yes Kyle, I do love you) I just can't keep up with his mess. Brad and I spent all of last Saturday cleaning the house, and had to give Kyle shit for ruining it on 2 occasions that night. (To Kyle: Don Quixote is STILL not where it belongs.) Since he has been gone, the house has remained spotless, with little effort at that.
As for the abundance of "couple time", it's wonderful. It's nice to spend most of my time with someone I get along with so effortlessly. It's also nice that we have similar habits and neurotic quirks, so we hardly get on each other's nerves. And as cheesy as it sounds, we've learned that we tend to bring out each other's better traits. Today was spent shopping for parts to finish the giant rat cage we've been working on. Whilst at the pet store buying bird ladders to connect the levels, we found baby rats. Since we intended on buying two more once the cage was finished, and Brad really didn't want to have to drive to the pet store again, we brought a couple home. They are so damn cute, and incredibly well-behaved. I have named mine Eleanor, but Brad is still at a loss for a name for his.
That about sums up everything for now. Much more could be said, but I lack the patience at the moment.
