Let me start off as follows:
HOLYSHITWHATTHEFUCKOHMYGOD.
And now, I will explain more eloquently.
Due to recent events I have decided to quit my job. Whether I do so immediately or upon finding a new job is yet to be decided. Regardless, my morals will not allow me to work for Winners any longer. How has the company offended me you ask? Let me regale you with the tale...
Winners has done stupid things in the past. "Work simplification"* took the cake until now, but when a company decides that the best way to handle a small problem is to fire every member of management and every co-ordinator, I just can't allow myself to be affiliated with them anymore. That's right. EVERY MANAGER AND CO-ORDINATOR. Not to mention the few employees who quit immediately upon hearing this. I won't get into the nitty gritty details, because it's not my place to say what I know in a public forum. But I can relate my experience.
Last Friday, I was off work. According to a friend, HR had come in and interviewed every employee. I thought "wow, that's crazy." Today, I checked my voicemail on my way to work and found a message from the same friend telling me something bad had happened at Winners. I instantly worried about my manager Steve, who has been out sick for quite a while. So I got to work and didn't have time to chat with her before I went upstairs. At the top of the stairs I was greeted by the District Manager, and a woman who introduced herself as the new Store Manager, and told me that all the managers had been transferred. Something wasn't right. They never transfer ALL the managers at once.
When I got back down to Service, everything was slowly explained by the few friends I have left at the store, seeing as most of my friends were co-ordinators. They were all fired. Brian came in to get his paycheque. He's gone too. EVERYONE. All of the best employees, and managers that I've loved working for for 3 years. Gone, over something that could have been settled in a much more respectable manner. And to top it all off, 3 weeks before Christmas.
The reason I've stuck with Winners so long is because I love the people I work with. I transferred stores to stay with managers that I loved working with. Other than that, it's a shitty job. But when a company goes and unjustly terminates all of the people I love, not only is there no good reason for me to stay, but there is good reson for me to leave. I feel betrayed because any sense of job security I had has been demolished. I feel insulted that they would lie about "transferring" the management, and I feel sad for all the people that didn't deserve this.
That's all I care to say right now.
* "Work simplification" - Winners' way of saying "we're gonna save you some time by not making you do this anymore", while failing to realize that in doing that small task, we were saving a ton of work in another way.
