Things that currently rule:
Hardcore
18th birthdays
tattoo appointments
The Auburn Tigers
Birmingham Hardcore
house shows
still seeing kids with heart and integrity.
This weekend has been fucking radical.
friday we had the show, and it was so much fun. No Price Paid ...what can i say... i think you dudes are fucking awesome. i mean shit, cro-mags AND minor threat- you can't go wrong with that shit. Out of Control: my hat goes off to you boys. Austin you make a good frontman.
we played well, we need to play better and get some of our stuff we're writing now to all of your ears.
saturday was my birthday. i'm 18. i had an awesome day, and i even still got to go to the show. sorry i couldnt make it to the clean up but you know i'm good for it. i wish i had gotten to see Full of it because what i heard on the net was really good, not to mention the tracks they had when they were cuttlefish or whatever. thieves and assasins were really good. the 5-0 tried to put a lid on it but the man can't keep us down. i do wish more kids had gone out and supported them because they're fucking rad.
stix and after party were fucking awesome.
IF YOU GIVE A SHIT ABOUT WHERE BIRMINGHAM HARDCORE IS GOING, PLEASE READ/THINK ABOUT THIS:
I'd like to take a moment and express my feelings towards a couple of things at this point in time concerning birmingham hardcore. I think there is more integrity afoot than we think. though our city isnt filled to the brim with veteran kids that still come out and support bands, the younger kids ( a healthy hadfull of them anyway) support and if we didnt have those kids coming out then we would be in even bigger trouble. some of these kids need to get their shit straight and realize why all the kids that talk about heart actually talk about having heart and talking about sticking around for things to come and to hold onto what we've built we can still make a change and educate kids that don't know what's up. if we just sit back and think of past times and how things used to be then everything we have will become what we used to have and hardcore and fingerpointing and involved political discussions and stage dives and high fives and all the blood and sweat that has been poured into what we all love and every other ideal and reason that some kid with a desire to speak his or her mind will indeed become a memory. i guess what i'm getting at is let's get birmingham back on the map. i don't care who you are, pick up some flyers and give them to kids at your school- post them around your campus- at your job...wherever. everyone can do something to help. and don't get hung up on these people that shun what we do. fuck those people. they dont know what they're missing out on. as long as i'm alive, hardcore will have the majority of my heart. the rest of it belongs to my friends and family. sorry for rambling but if hardcore means as much to the kids that i hear talking about it as it does me, then it can't be destroyed
Let's start making change today.
IT'S TIME TO REVIVE THE IDEAS... REKINDLE THE SPIRIT THAT BROUGHT US HERE!
