Zero 7...
my ultimate favourite band of all time...
is performing at the Orpheus in LA next month.
I so so so HAVE to go this time as I missed them 3 years ago!
I have no money atm...so I will most definitely do my darndest and set some aside just for that.
Fingers crossed.
I have a BIG paper due on Thursday. As always I've procrastinated. And I'm still procrastinating. When I should be sitting down and focusing, I find something else "more important" to work on. Really. I've barely started on it. The good thing however, because I'm so not wanting to deal with it, I'm studying for my other classes better -just so I don't waste my time and so I can justify that I am doing coursework still...just not the pressing one.
Ha ha.
On a better light, I got my last Philosophy test results back.
I got an A! I whooped so loud in the classroom.
Happy!
Stacy took me to see the Raveonettes last week as a birthday present.
The Henry Fonda Theater is a gorgeous and intimate little place. From all the mouldings and light fixtures you can tell that it's quite old. I love the rooftop which they converted into a lounge area: semi-circular couches, iron cocktail tables and casbah-like seating in the indoor lounge. Beautiful. It wasn't just a rooftop and it made the whole experience even better.
A band - I forget which- played before the Raveonettes.
The lead singer reminded me of Ben Lee from Silverchair.
They looked so young but the music was good.
They were heavy on the bass and as the flooring was wooden, you could feel the vibrations. Nice.
The Raveonettes were great!
I like their mellow grunge sound. It takes me back to high school when Reality Bites, Doc Martens and long rayon floral dresses were genious.
Thank you Stacy.
