taking stock

Now that I'm working to open up shop, I've been getting back on to refreshing my wardrobe as well. I've been evaluating what I've been wearing (& not wearing) as well as where I shop. Clothes shopping is a bit tricky for me as I'm petite and fit into more European style clothing. Because I'm small, I'd often get tempted to shop at teens shops. Problem is proportion is all wrong and I end up looking dumpy, or trying to hard. Or perhaps, being in my 30's has finally hit me and I realise that I should fine tune my style aesthetic? Ha ha!
On thing is for sure though, I realise now more than ever that fit makes a big difference. It doesn't matter how expensive or affordable a piece of clothing is, but if it doesn't fit, it will always look cheap.

Since an odd summer inventory is in order before I procure more clothes, I decided to see what I've got in my closet. I took out my shoes -I know it's not clothes but they go on the body as well and a good pair of shoes goes a long way, making or breaking an outfit (or your day). I'm surprised to find that these are all I have -give or take a couple of thongs and trainers. My husband has a whopping 25 pairs (not counting thongs or his motorcycle boots)!!!

wearing, collection, anything goes, little things
