No convincing necessary..
It's just a fact that a baby is not an appendage of a womans body.
She shouldn't be able to decide to remove it like a mole or a birthmark.
Killing a baby is just a murderous as killing an middle aged man.
It's homicide, usually out of irresponsibility or carelessness.

I just don't see solid reasoning in "womens choice."

I was wondering how you feel about the following:

a) Pregnancy due to rape, and
b) Life-threatening pregnancy (to mother/child and/or mother and child)

Do you think that abortion is acceptable in either of those cases?

Also, what's your opinion on child services/HRS? I'm assuming that you agree with adoption.

As a militant feminist and women's studies major (and general asshole), I'm genuinely interested to hear about your point of view.

a.) have the baby and put him/her up for adoption. No child deserves to be killed. Sorry. I'm sorry she got raped, but no human being is a mistake... God created a purpose for that baby being conceived.

b.) Like I said, God has a plan for everyone. If God didn't want the woman to get pregnant, then I don't think it would have happened.

Abortion is never right.

oh yeah... and how would you feel if your mother felt like YOU were a mistake?! And decided to abort you. It's a good thing she didn't... because you have a purpose here on earth, and you are needed.
I know people who were conceived by their mothers being raped. And they are some of the most amazing people I know. To think if their moms aborted them! Everyone has a purpose... everyone.

Slow down hoss. Obviously I wouldn't have any feelings if my mom thought I was a mistake and decided to abort me. At any rate, I'm assuming that was a rhetorical question to begin with. I understand your point of view, and that you seem to be very passionate about your convictions, but it's hard for me to have an actual discussion or take someone's opinion seriously when they bring too much emotional baggage into the topic.

I wasn't trying to start shit by asking about facets of abortion that are often overlooked by people who are adamantly pro-life. I am genuinely interested in peoples' beliefs on that, as I am pro-choice and always will be. As I stated, I'm a women's studies major. I've heard the good and bad of both sides...I was just wondering what Megan believed. Next time, instead of posing questions to the questioner, try using straight facts and "objective" opinions.

wow.. way to be contemptuous.

if abortion is anything, it's emotional baggage, of course it's going to come along with the topic.

You're a women's studies major. Congratulations. Doesn't mean your decision of being pro-choice is correct and I'm sorry that you choose to be that.. because you are supporting so much of our future to be demolished.

I am using facts and "objective" opinions. I know for a fact that God didn't want people to murder... and that is what abortion is.

I know that I'm not going to change your mind. But I pray that maybe one day you will realize that it's wrong, and if not... whatever... I'm not the judge of you. I'm done and take care.

Personally:

God gives life, and God takes it away, no one else has the power to do that.

But.
If a woman is raped, I believe that she should have the choice.

If I were raped, I would keep the baby, as I don't believe in one person killing another under ANY circumstances (exception: reasonable self-defense.)

If a womans life is in danger (assuming the childs is to) I believe it is also her choice.

Other than that, a baby not a part of a womans body, whether it's legal or not, its murder.
