One more month until vacation, one more month until vacation... that's my mantra!!

'Course, that also means one more month until the marathon (one month and nine days, actually) and so I'm starting to get antsy over that! Gonna try and get up really early tomorrow for a long run.

Been trying to relax, though, before the summer rush hits! Last week I went with ariellen to Blizzard Beach and had a blast. Only slide we didn't do was Summit Plummet... we were going to, but the weather started to turn. No, really! :P (Oh, and Teamboat Springs, 'cause it was closed) But if you go? The Pina Colava is an AWESOME drink. A pina colada with a twist. YUM!

Going horseback riding tomorrow! YAY! I haven't ridden a horse in ages, and I miss it liek woah. They set up a trail ride get-together for Safari drivers tomorrow, and I'm psyched!

Been working on a few art projects, although not finishing much. I did get a couple more of those X-Files coloring pages done:
1x02 - Deep Throat
1x03 - Squeeze
Also working on another National Treasure piece and a couple of wildlife paintings and drawings, too.

The trampoline also goes well! And after 4 weeks of trying and just not getting it, something finally clicked on Thursday and I did a double back tuck! WOO! That felt good. It was an "Aha!" moment, as Karen Pryor would say. Also started working more on my front and back pike, and played around with back layout and back handspring. Good times!

*points to icon* Been busting out my old Mad About You DVDs and rewatching that series, too. God, I'd forgotten how awesome it was. Helen Hunt and Paul Reiser had great chemistry, and AWESOME comedic timing. And I'd forgotten so many of my favorite quotes, but the instant they started saying them, I was finishing the quotes. I miss that show so hard now... :( (I also realized that there's a line or two on my safari that I deliver Paul Reiser-style: "You can see that the hippos are actually pretty graceful underwater. On land? Nnnnnnnot so much.") (And I can't wait until I get to my favorite episode ever: "But I don't wanna be in the Laugh-In party scene!!!!")

Here's the books for April 2010!

Last Flight of the Scarlet Macaw - Bruce Barcott
Interesting to see the battles that rage over environmental concerns in a foreign country. The book is pretty one-sided, but that's really the point so I can't complain about that. It was definitely more political than I expected, though. I guess it is what it is. :)

The Mists of Avalon - Marion Zimmer Bradley
Beautiful book!! At times the story does seem to drag a bit. A little more of the "political intrigue" side than I was really expecting, but it is what it is.

Kingdom Keepers III: Disney In Shadow - Ridley Pearson
Like the other Kingdom Keepers books, it's great entertainment! While I can't say it's high literature by any stretch of the imagination, it was very enjoyable. At times the plot seemed to twist a little TOO much, making it a bit convoluted for the light reading. But the action was good, and I liked that it was fast-paced. If I have one big complaint (and I say this as a Walt Disney World Cast Member who is very well acquainted with the parks), it's the lack of accuracy in some of the park information. Obviously some of it is creative license, done to move the plot along, but some things really could have used the editing eye of someone more familiar with the parks. As a simple example, the use of "Disney" Hollywood Studios instead of its proper name, Disney's Hollywood Studios. But that being said, you can't go wrong when you actually put Wonders of Life to use - 'cause Disney sure ain't! ;)

trampoline, art, books, wdw, mad about you
